Peter_Gunn -> The Christian and Conspiracies (5/27/2009 12:59:21 PM)

These are a some good videos about a healthy Christian relationship to conspiracy theories. They were helpful to me as a reminder of what my perspective and focus should be.

Each link is about 10 minutes long.

Part One

Part Two

And, to be clear, I don't think we are to have our heads in the ground...we need to be sufficiently aware of the weapons of the Enemy so we can recognize the attacks for what they are. But that shouldn't be our main focus....and the makers of these videos do an excellent job of portraying that balance.

Enjoy! [:)]

I agree in principle what he is saying, i.e. that conspiracies always existed but God is in control. However, there are conspiracies out there for real, because Lucifer is the God of this world. I won't argue that for 9-11 that not all conspiracies are true. Of course not. They cannot all happen the way each group says they did. However, in fact, there is truly a conspiracy of some sort to control the world: the bible calls it Antichrist. I always said that the "Illuminati" is the world's way of looking at the biblical Antichrist. Same thing, different names. But then this recognition does get twisted to fit specific stories that each one believes and yes, those may not be the entire truth.

Frankly, the guy rubs me the wrong way. I always have Christ and His Kingdom in mind when the world is getting worse and worse (be it from conspiracies or otherwise) that this just points to the fact that the Day is soon coming for God's government to take over instead of the Luciferian world government.

In it's true form (without the corruption) I do, however, believe that the government of the United States and Britain were God's will and plan for this world. However, if in the US for example there's a conspiracy that the government were to restrict our rights to bear arms, that many Christians would erroneously quote Romans 13 to justify any mud slung at them. In fact, the government that God set up is a constitutional government proposed by our founding Fathers and if "government" decides to take that away, then they are in fact opposing the God-ordained system set up, and the way I interpret Romans 13 would actually REQUIRE me to rebel and overthrow it.

Somehow, I get the feeling that our gentleman in the videos would not approve of what I just said, and it's because of that error that I felt he rubbed me the wrong way.

It's not wrong to study conspiracies---- nobody should be dumb and just take what's dished out to them.

There are those of the opinion that groups or people who claim our government to be ordained of God are Christian extremists committed to destroying our form of government replacing it with a Theocracy (albeit Christian) such as rules Iran. And the conspiracies continue...

Here's a good teaching on Christians and conspiracy theories:
