Psa 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth forever. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Sometimes we need to go back to where it all started...

Does the church not have a set term "limit" for deacons!?!? I know many churches that do this which seems to work well in these types of situations. Since you said this has been going on for 2 years, my guess is the church doesn't have these kinds of procedures in place.

Greetings in Jesus! I realize I am sounding in on this far after the fact ... but I must! Does a church constitution over rule the Bible? Does the Bible not speak of officers conduct and involvement in the church? Can any one person hold God's church for ransom because of a constitution? Difficult people require difficult times. Paul set our example ... he called names and he warned the church who to avoid and who to keep away from the sheep. Shepherds are required to protect the flock even from themselves. God's grace is still sufficient! But will we use it? regret looks back, worry looks around but faith looks up to where our help comes from ...

tmeeks, I was concerned as to if you have an update on this situation. The behavior of deacon ought not to be so and I am just wondering if anything has/is being done about it? Thanks for sharing this with us. People wonder why the church is going to hell in a handbasket, so to speak. But, it shouldnt really be a surprise when people like this are allowed to hold the office of deacon. The Church needs to wake up.

Jumping in late but I like to go back to the beginning on these. In this case, the "deacon" title is not al t hat important as it pertains to this persons behavior. You have already received the wise council to go to him personally, take another with you and then bring it before the local body as Matthew records. The other issue concerns polity. I encourage you to take some time to study scripture concerning the role of elders and deacons. Understand what God's plan is using His word. Perhaps you could study through this with leaders in the local body (voted on and otherwise). This will allow each person to hear the call of God along with the requirements of the position and then evaluate both their own readiness and God's desire for their individual life. One other item. Are you making disciples of the men in your local body? Regardless of titles and offices, people need to be equipped. I hope you are building leaders by making disciples.
