I work three 12 hour shifts per week. I love the schedule. I just don't like what I'm doing.

HI Sarah! We've missed you!!!

Narnia - sounds like it went well & that C's true colors are starting to be seen by others too!

Cindy - Glad to hear that Melissa is feeling better! Wish you all could send some of your garden goodies through the computer! I just had a salad, but it just isn't as good as garden grown veggies.

Well, dd & I are about 1/2 way done with our pricing! We've gotten through a lot of the little stuff! We need to get back to it! I have 2 friends bringing things over too - we should have a good amount of stuff & hopefully will attract some shoppers!

It sounds hard to work 12 hour shifts. How's the job hunt coming along?

Well, we have everything priced! We haven't gotten it set up yet, but we may wait until it's a bit cooler outside to do that. I am beat! I think this is the earliest I've ever had everything priced for a garage sale!

At the moment I'm casually looking. I haven't applied for anything yet because I'm not quite sure what I really want as far as a schedule. I think I will stay at the call center 16 hours per week - that's the minimum I have to work in order to do poison and to get benefits. I don't want to switch Jesse's doctors. That means I need 20 hours per week somewhere else. If I hire on part time I will be guaranteed those hours, but I will have to work every other weekend and holiday for both jobs. If I hire on prn I will have a lot more control over my schedule, but I won't be guaranteed the hours.

I would really like to be a beach bum, but the pay hoovers and I burn easily.

The current plan is that I will drive up Monday and stay for a few days, but if I get another job I might not be able to have the time off, so we'll see.

Just so you all know, anyone who I have not met yet has to be there on Monday or Tuesday... that's orders!

Okay, maybe not. But I don't wanna hear, "Melissa, you just missed Zoebob! She pulled in an hour after you left!".

Got it? I think that I am planning to leave on FOT on Wednesday (to go to my Dad's house), at least that is the plan at this point.

An update... I have officially made it 48 hours without a migraine! I took a nap and woke up HUNGRY!! Hubby is picking up dinner so I don't have to cook (how sweet!). I think that once I eat, I will feel better, but I feel pretty good right now anyway. Praise the Lord!!

We're planning on being there from Sunday or Mondya to Thursday or Friday.

I had a pretty good time at work today. We didn't visit with nearly as many resident as we usually do, however the visit took two hours rather than the usual one. Had a great visit with the former Rockette. She showed me a bunch of her old photos. As a baby she had the chubbiest cheeks! Sadly, also had a visit with a resident who is now in hospice care. Bottom line, though, is I HAVE to get Benny trained so I don't miss any visits when I retire Kenny.

Well, I'm not so sure if things will work out. Got an email form rw today telling me that C was pretty upset last night and the problem has spread to more dancers than just the two of us. I have another meeting with C, r and rw tonight after service...and I always do have forebodings about these meetings..probably because I do not trust them enough to not give C her way.

Narnia, Usually people who have gotten their own way, get upset when it doesn't happen. I am praying for you. Maybe this is a way for you to find somewhere else and be free of the church you are in now. I don't know, but that's just my 2 cents.

I have a question for everyone. If you had a 16 year old who was interested in fixing computers, etc., would you keep homeschooling him even if his room looked like a computer junkyard or would you send him HERE for free and homeschool him in the basics?

Melissa is feeling better today, and she and the kids are coming over to help get my garden in! It's looking a little overcast at the moment. If it rains, I will not be happy. I have a ton of plants that are seriously overgrowing their containers and are looking rather sad. They need to get out in the garden.

Judy, if your son is actually interested in computers as a career I'd probably send him to that school. If it's just a fun hobby for him, then let him tear things apart on his own. I would only send him to the school if he were going to need the certifications they offer.

Narnia, I agree that it sounds like C didn't get her way, and now she's having a temper tantrum. It all depends on whether or not the parents . . . umm, leadership . . . will cave in to her or not.

Hey everyone...it's nice to be missed...lol

In our lives right now...
Paul got orders to Korea...permanent change of station (PCS). They are for a 12 month unaccompanied tour, so the kids and I have to stay here. He leaves around July 18th (has to be there to sign in on the 21st). Next tuesday he starts out-processing from here and he goes on 30 days of leave starting the 18th of June.

When he gets back next year we will be moving, but we are not sure where yet. His orders state Ft Hood TX, but we will have that changed for sure. Here are our options...
Ft Hood, TX- no go because the hospital is horrible.
Ft Bliss, TX- no go because it is too close to Mexico for our comfort right now.
Ft Benning, GA- Paul would prefer to not go since it is another training base and he doesn't want to work under civilians (he does here and it makes life very hard!!)
Ft Stewart, GA- We hear the crime rate in the town right off post is horrendous...a sgt here (that just got here from there) said his wife went to Wal-Mart one night about 10 and had to be escorted back to her car from the door by the police. Anywhere you go after dark they have to escort you to your car because of the high crime rate and high gang rates. So we really don't want to have to deal with that.
Ft Carson, CO- as of right now this looks like our best option. It can be an expensive area to live in though, so we don't know if we will choose that or not.
If we don't want those options we can wait 6 months and call back to see what they have open then. At that time if we want to go back overseas we can get a waiver to do that...we aren't sure about if we want to do that or not though...lots of time to think.

eta...
oh yeah, I forgot one base...Ft Riley, KS- not too much against it, but it's kind of a boring place and a blah base from what we have heard through the years (course that could just be those people that didn't like it). It is in the top contenders right along with Ft Carson, CO

Cindy, he wants the certifications because he wants to start his own business so he can save up for college. He can also work on computers while he is in college. He doesn't need to go to the school to get certified.
He can take the tests for about $200 but if he messes up, it will cost another $200. I just don't have the money to do that. It would be a lot easier to have someone teach him that really knows what they are doing.
If it was anything else, like auto mechanics for instance, I could probably teach it to him, but computers are like trying to teach him Chinese or something.,,

peculiar, don't forget to check the homeschool laws. I know that in KS, you have t to register as a private achool.
Dh was stationed at FT. Carson. He said the air was pretty thin and it got very cold in the winter time.

Oh Sarah! That sounds awful. the 18th is Father's day. Does this mean that you won't be able to come to FOT? That is awful long trip by yourself with so many little ones. You could stay here for the rest of the summer if you would like.

BTW, I am glad that Melissa is finally feeling better.
Cindy, I forgot, Ds and I have plants growing in the living room. It still too cold to plant some of them. Well, the cat thinks they are cat snacks.
So far he's been snacking on the purple cabbage, hot pepper, watermelon (ds says that the cat ate all of the leaves), strawberry, and squash plants and maybe some tomato leaves. Do ya think some of these would hurt him? This is the cat who refuses to go outside. If we try to take him out, he claws us and if we actually succeed in getting him outside, he runs for the door and tries to claw it to get it open.

Lisa...if I could swing it I would love to go, but I think FOT is out this year and next (next year we will be moving when he comes back at the end of July). I am not going to try to drive that distance (there AND back) on my own.

Yeah thanks for the reminder about checking the laws. Nowhere will be as lax as where we are now...not that I really care...I will do whatever the law requires wherever we end up.

It is good to see you here though! Hey if you move to Riley, we could finally meet in person..choose a halfway spot to meet up! So that would be one thing to look forward to?..I hope

I do agree with your assessments. And Cindy is right...it does depend on
how leadership reacts...and that is where my uneasiness comes from. In the past they have coddled the troublemaker, but I hope things will be different this time around.

The other good thing that is on my side is that one of the other dancers who has been witness to this from the beginning has said that what is going on is wrong and how she and another dancer are to the point where they don't want to dance due to C's shenanigans. She also pointed out that if three or four people were complaining about me, then the problem is with me, but there is only one person complaining about me.

She said a lot more than I did..all of it being true. I did not want to say too much in my meeting because I did not want it to be seen as I was gunning for C and picking on every little thing she does.

Thank you all for your continued prayers...and if you would like specifics for tonight, pray for 9 p.m. CDT and after as that is the approximate time that service will be over and the meeting will begin.

Glad Misa feels better!

Sarah,

The registration is the only law here, I believe.
