Did you all leave me here alone?? Where are all of you?

We took Ds to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. I told him it was an early birthday present. His birthday is a week from Tuesday. Now Dh is taking his daily nap and Ds is talking on the phone to gs. I am just so glad that we have unlimited long distance. Gs has unlimited nights and weekends.

Ds is helping with VBS the week of his birthday. He said he didn't want to take go on his birthday. I told him that I needed him to go because I was sending gs that week! He said last year that everyone threw water balloons at him and this year they are threatening to throw cream pies at him because they know it's his birthday!!

My kids picked up a respiratory virus around the time we got back from vacation. They kindly shared it with Melissa's kids, and now with me. It seems to have hit my chest. I won't admit to how many times I've used my puffer since last night, and I NEVER use my puffer unless I'm at work. My doc is gonna yell at me. I'm going to see her this afternoon because I most likely need a round of steroids. I'm scheduled to work today, but I told them I'd be in after my doc appointment.

The best part of the whole thing is that Melissa lives pretty close to my doc's office, so I can stop and bum a cup of coffee.

Cindy, Hope you get well soon!
Hmm, Melissa, you can move here.
The only people I know drink Mt. Dew not coffee.

Dd told me that she's had bronchitis 7 times in 17 months. She told me that they are getting moldy parts from Brazil with green mold on the boxes. I looked up green mold online and found a couple that cause bronchitis/bronchial asthma. I told her about it and she looked up when they started getting the parts. It was 18 months ago. The big boss came in and asked her what stunk in her shop. She told him the parts are moldy, as if he didn't know before. He said he was calling the place and getting the parts out of there...time will tell.

RANT
Dd1 who lives down south, calls every month asking for money. It is irritating to no end. She says they are losing the house, cars, and so on and so forth... She has also been telling us that she let a couple with 3 or 4 kids move in with her (neither one of them are working)..I asked her if she had a bucket, sponge and dish soap. I told her to give it to the jobless people and tell them to start a window washing business... It's not mine and Dh's job to support people who can't get up and help themselves. She pulled a fast one on us when they got hit by bad storms a few weeks ago. We sent them money and after we did, she told us her Dh's mother sent money, too... She also told me that gs is going to lose his bedroom furniture because they got it from Renta Center. Well, it's not my fault. Instead of them paying renta center 4 times what something is worth, they should save that much a week and could buy stuff instead of renting it and also get a little interest on the money they save.
She is hinting at coming back up here. Dh said we aren't doing that again. We can't afford it.
Think I am a mean Mom?
End of Rant

I hope her boss is serious about not ordering parts from that company anymore.

Melissa,
How is the headache? Is it gone?

Well, I'm not so sure if things will work out. Got an email form rw today telling me that C was pretty upset last night and the problem has spread to more dancers than just the two of us. I have another meeting with C, r and rw tonight after service...and I always do have forebodings about these meetings..probably because I do not trust them enough to not give C her way.

What happened? How did it go?

Melissa is currently in the ER. I came over to have coffee with her and found her sweaty, dizzy and with a rapid heartbeat. Her EKG is normal but they are still working her up. She's feeling ok as long as she's lying down. I'll update as soon as I hear more.

I left Melissa at the ER when her husband got there and went to my doc appointment - I have prednisone and asthmanex along with my puffer, but she figures I'm gonna live.

Awwwww... I hope Melissa is ok!

Cindy, that bunch of meds of yours makes me jittery just thinking about it. I hate prednisone. I don't know, but can't asthma meds often cause jitteryness too? I hope you feel better soon.

Melissa has been admitted for observation.

Yeah, Ellie, I hate prednisone too. Asthma meds do make a lot of people jittery, but I don't usually get that. I just have a horrendous headache from using my puffer every hour.

Cindy, praying for both of you.
Trying to track storms on the radar. I should have put the truck in the carport.
Dd got a check in the mail for about $3400. She said that they were going to send her checks every week to be a mystery shopper. She said she got to keep $400 and send the rest Western Union to someone, minus the Western Union fee. I told her it was a scam and that she would send the money and end up owing the bank all of it. I think she figured it out! It sounded like a good deal, making $300 a week at home, maybe that's too good to be true.

Someone on here lives in Ontario, but I forgot who it was. Well, here is something neat. You can track MI storms that are moving across Lake Huron on here. Connect Mid Michigan

Cynthia.

The meeting ended up being a draw, basically. Some things were said that I absolutely disagree with, other things rw actually stuck up for me, which I didn't expect.

I am still leader and c and I will now work together for dance.

No...any final decisions about dance are mine. She was also told that the protocol has been and will continue to be that you follow the leader..even if they do make a mistake. She was told outright that I am the leader.

We'll see what happens. Her dh was in the meeting and he said some things and it is obvious to me that he still has some bitterness from a few people who left before the big split last year. Two of those couples have come back...one couple is on the worship team, and the other one is now an elder.

He also said that I should stop insulting his wife's experience since she has danced for so many years and I have only danced for three. R and rw both nipped that in the bud by asking me if I had been in a congregation before ..which I was and how long I was there and danced there...which means we both have the same amount of experience of dance..they just didn't know it. And it was good that I did not have to say that I had experience..that was brought up by r and rw.

I'll see what happens...I can still leave if it does not work out.

DS is done except he needs to write a composition for his cyberschool placement test.

DD still has to make a timeline of US History from civil war to present and do one or two more science chapters.

Joe is done except for preparing to take the Compass test and life skills 101 (ie. getting a part-time job)

Done as in graduating?

So many people around me are finishing up with homeschooling. Mr. Manly just finished 3rd grade, but TL is 15. I have two more years with her homeschooling. I am starting to think a lot about preparing for when they are all finished.

No, just done with his junior year. He really only needs 1.5 credits to graduate, we aren't planning on him graduating this year. There are several things I'd still like him to do. I'm thinking that he may graduate early next year though.

Joe is your youngest, isn't he? Wow. How does it feel to be so close?

Narnia, It sounds like an improvement. I am glad that the r and his wife have made it clear that you are the leader.

I try not to think about it too much. Joe's planning to live here for at least two years after he graduates. He's thinking about going to the local junior college.

Well, Sue, you have an advantage in that you already have a career outside of family.

I am going to start a thread on this topic.

Hi all! It was such a busy weekend that I never made it on here! My garage sale went really well!! My one friend (who only had a few items) made $25, my friend who is also raising money for her kids to go to church camp made $60 & I made $175!!! I had many more higher priced items than they did & a lot more stuff to begin with! It was actually worth doing a garage sale this time! All my leftovers are sitting on the front porch for a charity to pick up (I hope they make it here soon, just in case it rains). Dh & ds got home from camp. We were all exhausted! Sunday night we had a bowl-a-thon for the kids to raise money for camp. Dd earned about $95. So, her camp should be covered now!! Then dh had yesterday off (that was nice) and dd started VBS at one of the local churches who let kids entering 6th grade participate! A lot of other churches (including ours) only let up to incoming 5th graders participate. Dd also went to her friends house after VBS to play. So, it's quiet here, except ds is watching "Two Towers" (the Lord of the Rings movie) and it is rather loud! Anyway just wanted to say HI!

Praying for Melissa! Hope the dr. can figure out what is going on.

Cindy - hope you're feeling better. We are all suffering with allergy junk here.

Sarah - I'm with everyone else on boring is OK! I must admit though that a lot of times the places I thought I wouldn't like to live have turned out to be some of the best times! Of course, any place is what you make of it and you & Paul will find ways to have fun & educate your kids no matter where you are!

Narnia - glad your meeting went fairly well!

I know I had other comments I wanted to make, but they are gone somewhere in my jumble of a brain!

True, but I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I know I don't want to work in the lab full time after Joe graduates. I'm not even sure I want to increase my hours. I'll be doing something, but probably more volunteer activities.

A couple of days of steroids, and I can finally take a deep breath!

Congrats on the garage sale, Amy. We are doing a major purge of the garage (well, Ashley is) but there is little worth selling. My dh can't throw anything away until it's sat in a box for at least 3 years and gotten wet several times. That's the kind of stuff she is getting rid of.

Glad you're feeling better Cindy! I used to be a pack rat of sorts (not too bad, but held on to things way too long). Moving every few years cured me of that! I'm hoping that once we get settled in a house that we're going to live in for a while, I don't revert! I don't think I will - I actually get sort of exhilarated by purging stuff out! At least your kids didn't get the "pack rat" gene - well at least not Ashley!

My kids asked me a few years ago what I wanted to be when I grew up! I'm still not sure what the answer to that question is!

I mowed the grass last night because they are predicting rain today & I didn't want to chance waiting! I was so tired that I crashed in bed & slept hard! I guess I needed it! I do feel better this morning! My nose is hurting though (too much blowing it, I guess)!
