Rosamund -> Need help finding a good CD (6/4/2009 11:41:37 AM)

Hey everybody! A friend of mine asked me to pick out a CD to give him on his birthday. I've been listening to lots of Christian artists on Napster, and I'm having trouble finding stuff he would like. He likes Third Day, Jars of Clay, Tobymac, Group 1 Crew, Cece Winans, Steven Curtis Chapman. He likes songs that have fun music and meaningful lyrics. I would appreciate some artist suggestions. Thanks!

He might enjoy a good sampler of top 25 Christian artists. It will probably have a few songs he already enjoys and may get him interested in some other artists he hasn't heard yet. Then, give him a gift certificate to purchase whatever CD he might enjoy most from his local Christian bookstore. Gotta plug my man Neal Morse here as always! Neal's music isn't for everyone, but if you're looking for something intelligent and very well crafted...you should find his music enjoyable.

Hmm..that's tough because there are so many great albums out. I'll try to give you some helpful suggestions.

David Crowder-"Remedy"
Leeland-"Sound of Melodies" or "Opposite Way"
Matthew West- "Something to Say"
Chris Tomlin-any of his albums are great
Seabird-"Til We See the Shore"...these guys are on tour with Jars of Clay
right now. If he likes band similar to The Fray he'll love this
album.
Phil Wickham-"Cannons"
Casting Crowns

Hope this helps!

WOW Hits 2008, or 2009 if it's out. Pretty much all of theses artists are on it, except Cece and maybe SCC. It's a fair sample of what's getting played most on Christian radio currently.

Thanks eveyone, especially nealmorsefan. I've listened to Neal Morse and I think my friend might like him. I'm going to listen to all the artists suggested and I'll let you know which ones I'll pick. Please keep the suggestions coming!

"In The Making..." - Nevertheless
"Speaking Louder Than Before" - Jeremy Camp
"Lamps" - Esterlyn
"Satisfied" - DecembeRadio
"Never Going Back To OK" - The Afters
"Hello" - After Edmund

Two words: Audio Adrenaline.

They were basically the 1st Christian band that really told people to have fun in their faith.

If you do with AA, the CD I would suggest would be either Hit Parade or Adios, their hit CDs.

LoveSavesLives -> RE: Need help finding a good CD (7/2/2009 7:05:20 AM)

Definitely try Casting Crowns. They're amazing, one of the best I've heard. Also, you could give him a WOW cd. It's two cds with songs from a bunch of different Christian artists. The WOW 2009 cd is great. It has some Casting Crowns, Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, and many other great artists on it. You can't go wrong with a mix.
