Today is National Day of Slayer!!!! - 6/6/2009 8:53:42 AM

Yes, as a matter of fact, there actually has been a petition that's been given to President Obama to make June 6, 2009 into a National Day of Slayer, which honors the band Slayer and recognizes metal fans, or "Heshers", as a legitimate subculture. Fans are encouraged to listen to Slayer up loud all day at home or at work, wear t-shirts, display Slayer posters everywhere, etc.
The semi-official holiday began three years ago on June 6, 2006 and has been observed ever since.
SO HOW ARE ALL OF YOU GOING TO CELEBRATE???!!! \m/ \m/

Hmm, by listening to music that is much much heavier, louder and faster than Slayer. :p

Maybe Google will pick it up, seeing yesterday they modified the graphic to celebrate the silver anniversary of Tetris (which I would consider of much lower importance compared to the 65th anniversary of D-Day)

In honor of the band Slayer---- I went to church and celebrated and prayed....to Jesus. I know they would be proud! (actually I'm making that up, but I would have gone to church if I'd known it was NSD... and the church was open)

I missed it! I watched all the D-Day stuff I could that day.
I'll listen to some Slayer today, though. Hopefully, that will make up for it.
