Jesus told Peter you don't need to worry about him, you need to keep your eyes on me. We don't need to worry about others, we need to learn to be rooted with Jesus ourselves. It's easy to point, and Jesus is pointing to us first and when i really think about it thats the only place that he points to in life. Everyone has to walk their road to be formed into what he needs them to be, it's the same road i'm on but God is in control and i have peace with that.

Yes, we need to keep our eyes on Him. That should remove the plank in our eyes. Mt 7:5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

The rest of the Bible is about men who tried to bring others back to God, and men who took the Gospel of the kingdom to those who never heard of it, then after that they wrote letters to those new churches to keep their eyes on Jesus and His kingdom. Unfortunately, they had to point fingers at others while encouraging members of the church to remain on the path with love for our Father in heaven.

Everyone WILL walk their own road to be formed into what Christ has called them, but I sure wish I had people around walking that road with me. I am sure that would have helped me avoid unnecessary painful missteps. It may have even helped my ex keep the marriage together, instead of looking for love on top a barstool.

Look, pointing fingers is somewhat ugly. It causes peple to get defensive and angry, but what of those who never get a correction? What happens to them? What about my ex? No one tried to point her to God. Where will she be at the end of her lifetime? She makes her own choices, I know, but I think our churches need to start providing a proper choice. We need to be salt and light, not doormats trampled by men.

May I ask if you can see in your post here some fear, fear of sticking your neck out? Can you see some self preservation in your post here?
Please, please do continue your walk with God. We all must mature and gain confidence in the Truth so that we can pass that Truth on to our offspring with love and joy from our Father in heaven. If don't mature, we risk this:
Mt 10:32-36 “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn “ ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law — a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household

The Word of God is powerful. It cuts to the heart and it makes enemies, but if Christians avoid taking up their cross, I see no real benefit to that. The benefit and blessings only come when we take up our cross.... We must not close our eyes to the lostness of the lost.

Blessings,
Rusty

Many Christians I believe get caught up in turning the other cheek and keep turning away and forget that we have only two. They need to stop obsessively turning the other cheek, and stop looking like a bobble head, and consentrate on spreading the Word of God and the message of salvation.

Over the last few years I have heard the same recurring complaint, "some of the worst people that I deal with are self proclaimed Christians". This has bothered me greatly. I have taken notice that in several business dealings some of my worst experiences have been with people who are very open about attending "church" on Sunday. To be fair the remainder of my worst experiences ever have been with non-believers.

What can we do to correct this?

Begin with ourselves.

Are we just as guilty of judging others as we accuse other Christians of being?

I think a better answer is found in Matt. 28:19,20.

We need to start making REAL DESCIPLES and not phony, ignorant of Truth, uncommitted so-called Christians. Check out the churches in Revelations who got letters from the Lord Himself.

Yes, and how does this begin? I can only control myself and what I do. If my actions encourage another - great. If my actions discourage another and causes them to turn away from Christ, well

Yes we can only control ourselves according to the leading of the Holy Spirit, but hasn't God given this same spirit to others? Isn't a church supposed to be abbiding in this spirit, instead of being hypocrits as RevMick noted.

I have noticed that one person filled with the Spirit in a room full of the ungodly is at great risk of becoming like them, that is if he doesn't fall back into the Lord and the Truth for strength.

The opposite is true, too. An ungodly person in a room full of spirit filled Godly people is at risk of being convicted and becoming one of them.....

I think the church needs an awakening.

How do you force christianity upon others...esspecially your particular brand?

Making disciples does not mean we make robots.

More inquisition than christianity I think.

Remeber as you judge you will be judged by God. If your goal is to make perfect little christians then...look to yourself first or you will be judged by that parameter.

Perfection is not our goal. Love is and through that we obey. The goal is to intorduce people to God, not make them into gods.

Sanctification is not a one time process and we all are sanctified in different ways and speeds. Because one christian does not meet your level of maturity does not mean they are not christians.

Its been tried before, to force christians to certain levels of faith. It failed.

We are human, not little gods or machines. WE...do not force God with the sword wether that is literal or figurative.

Look to yourself..and then judge christianity.
