While in the hospital this past week or 2, I noticed just how nice and professional that the Nurses were to me. They were very well versed on their knowledge and remained kind to me as well! I just thought I'd start a thread in appreciation of nurses! [:)]

I learned during my father's illness that the nurses do approximately 95% of the caretaking in a hospital. The doctors make their daily appearance for a few minutes, but it's the nurses who do the real work. And keep a check on the doctors, too.

What a sweet thread! I'm glad you had such good experiences with the nurses![:)]

And I'm glad you're feeling better! Welcome back.

Nurses are amazing. Back when I was having reconstructive surgery for a deformity when I was 7, the nurses were absolutely INCREDIBLE. There was one nurse in particular who took a lot of time to make sure that I was happy and not lonely at all and well taken care off. I never saw her again but God bless her, wherever she is right now.

Mike. . . I'm so glad you had great nurses who cared for you! I absolutely LOVE being a nurse, but my job is a lot more enjoyable with appreciative, respectful patients, which I'm sure you were. [:)]

so cool a thread..wasnt expecting this thread. and really needed it. i am a firefighter and an ER Nurse and my 7a-7p in the ER fell after my 24 hour shift at fire department. i love what i do but i wasnt much a PR person today. thought i was going to have to take my Glock out of the glove compartment as i left the trauma center.
i have been nursing 33 years and God blessed me with this occupation. i guess you can call it a "calling" i am not sure how well i do at it but i try. have a blessed day

Nurses are a huge blessing. My brother was a nurse for a couple of years. I have some friends who are nurses too.

I hope to be a nurse in two years. I will do my best to not let anyones expectation of nurses down.

I'm so glad that you got to experience such great caretakers (well I'd be more glad if you hadn't needed them to begin with, but that's why they're there[;)]).

My mom is a nurse and she works soooo hard. I respect her because she works ER and ICU and can only imagine how challenging that must be. Seeing the way she goes the extra mile and having experience wonderful nurses myself, they do not get enough recognition.

Thanks for recognizing all the hard work nurses do and thank you nurses for doing that hard work!
