I'm thinking of writing a screen play for a guy version of the Notebook. I know it would probably never get turned into a movie but I would probably start as a novel and put it online. I'm thinking of calling it 'The Dudebook', 'The Manbook', 'The Bro-book', or 'The Guybook' and put a guy spin on all those ridiculous chick flicks. Anyone got any ideas that could help get the ball rolling?

I think it should be in flashback format; middle aged man in his garage spills oil while working on his lovingly restored black Corvette convertible with an LT-1 Small-Block and 454 in³ Big-Block engine; the one with four-speed manual Turbo Hydra-matic transmission. He reaches for something to wipe it up with and accidentally grabs a notebook wherein he recorded all the adventures of his youth. He begins to read through it, whereupon the movie flashes back to that time and depicts the events. Near the end, the movie flashes forward again, and the man realizes he was an idiot when he was young, and he is glad those days are over. He wisely rips the pages out of his notebook to sops up the oil spill. Fade to black, roll credits, guys in the audience are weeping.

I like The Bro-Book. You should go with that one. Just a quick aside: I thought The Notebook was actually pretty good. Not a favorite of mine, but it wasn't that bad.

The notebook reveals a treasure map, but only when dipped in water.
