Does anyone really conside the Browns a "winner" yesterday??

That has got to be the ugliest game ever played on the field.

Browns fans don't consider that a win but if it were against Pittsburgh they would.

Exciting Patriots-Broncos game, though I could definitely live without seeing those Denver uniforms again.

What do you make of the talk of Rush Limbaugh leading a group attempting to buy the Rams?

Well, He couldn't make the situation there any worse!

The Dolphins-Jets game was a score-a-thon in the last quarter. 35 points! Looks like the Steelers aren't the only team to have a 4th quarter defensive breakdown. And that happening after a scoreless third! The Dolphins sure are a fun team to watch!

I dunno about that...the Steeler's have lost a lot of regard one way or the other and don't seem to matter as much anymore with some of the fans.

It doesn't matter much to Steelers' fans because to have a rivalry you have to have some competition. 19 - 2 over the last decade isn't much to get excited about.

Qustion: What can Brown do for you?
Answer (by Steelers fan): Give my team another W!

It's getting to where it's a 9th home game.

I guess, technically, they could, at this time, be considered an expansion team since all their talent moved to Baltimore. This probably leaves Brown fans wishing the team remained.

This is why I say no to the NFL in L.A. Not only the gridlock it would create where they want the new stadium but because we already have a plethora of teams here of other sports.

Selling a new team here would be rough because there are many still loyal Rams and Raiders fans here. Everyone else has chosen a different team as well. (As evidenced by myself, a lifelong L.A. resident who has rooted for the Steelers since 1973.) You would have a "support the home team" crowd but I don't think there are many who will shift their football loyalties quickly. IOW, the team would have to hit the ground running and be a winner, and, for an expansion team, that usually is a long awaited dream to be fulfilled in the future.

This begs the question, which NFL expansion team had the earliest success as evidenced by a playoff appearance?

I believe the theory behind the NFL wanting to force a team to LA is if only 5% of the people there care you'd still be looking at a market the size of Cleveland's and bigger than Pittsburghs. I agree with you though that LA hasn't kept a football team yet and you have 2 basketball teams, 2 baseball teams (is Anaheim really that close?), 1 hockey team and they seem to do pretty good.

What I find ironic is for as "fast" and "hip" as the LA scene is supposed to be that the NFL is the only major league that hasn't found lasting success there but boring as all git-out baseball has.

Anyone following this long string of celebrity part-owners of the Miami Dolphins (Williams sisters, Gloria Estefan, J. Lo, Jimmy Buffett, etc.,). Looks like Black Eyed Peas member Fergie will soon join this group.

2 hockey teams. The distance from Staples Center (where the Kings play) and the Honda Center "The Pond" (where the ex-champ Ducks play) is a mere 33 miles (meaning it takes just 3 hours in rush hour traffic with the jack-knifed semi blocking all lanes).

The proposed new football stadium is 29 miles from Staples (which is the closest sports venue to downtown L.A.) and will be on the northern border of Orange County so they could be called the "barely L.A. [insert name of team here]".

The Ducks rink is literally across the 57 freeway from Angels Stadium. Staples Center and Dodger Stadium are the only venues that are truly in the City of LA but the Angels are always trying to co-op LA for their team name even though they are in Orange County and not even in LA county. The Rams moved from the Coliseum to Angel stadium in 1980 and from 1982-1994 L.A. had two football teams for awhile.

I went to a cross town Ram-Raider game at Anaheim Stadium which had the cops busy busting up the fights in the stands all night long. In 1994 both teams left and I was glad I rooted for the Steelers. (No team to lose)

There are still a lot of Rams and Raider fans. Although the Raiders fans are more prevalent (and more rude).

Better watch what you say about baseball. It might have Uncabeeil revoking our American citizenship. But I do agree about the "excitement of baseball" having to hear my dad listen to tons of games called by the droning Vin Scully and Ross "Stats" Porter. Makes me nauseous just thinking about it.

Most people I talk to could care less if L.A. gets a team. Because of where they are planning to put the stadium, I am against it as well. The problem with L.A. is the sprawl and, unless they go for eminent domain, there is not a lot of open space (not enough for a football stadium anyway).

It'll never happen, but I'd be all for it. The more personalities we have in ownership, the more exciting the game will be overall. Notice the Raiders stopped being interesting when their owner lost his personality. Hmm, maybe Rush could buy the Raiders...?

Especially in star studded Los Angeles!

I remember when Gretzky came to the Kings, the stars came out in droves to the games. Even former President Reagan and Nancy came to one. (I had to be searched to get into that one.) But that made hockey viable in Los Angeles where another team was needed. We even had two professional roller hockey teams at one point.

The point being is that this was a long winded attempt at saying, "Ditto" to what rlj said!

Is that a spinoff from the "Know how to keep a Pittsburg grad busy? Answer- order a pizza.

Either way I find both teams boring these days. Fans are expecting to see a good game and I haven't seen that from either of those teams in quite awhile.

Yeah, that last Super Bowl was a real yawner!

On a sad note:
"Fein, a rookie LB cut by Ravens last month, dies at age 27Associated Press

SEATTLE -- Tony Fein, an Iraq war veteran who played linebacker with the Baltimore Ravens during the preseason, died of unexplained causes after collapsing at a friend's house in what his agent said appears to be "an accidental situation." Fein was 27."

This was the guy that got hastled in a restaurant when he pulled his cell phone which a security guard mistook for a gun.

I pray for his family and friends who have to endure this unexpected and tragic loss.

Cullen Bryant has died too! Am I reading NFL.com or the obituaries?

It must not have been to impressive I can't remember either team, the final score, or the halftime show. I think the commercial's are the biggest headlines in the SB these days.

I never heard of either of those players who died but my prayers are with the families.

That kicker for the Raven's today needs to find somewhere to hide for awhile.

I guess a miraculous catch in the waning seconds of a game to come back and win the Super Bowl can be rather dull for some!

The last two years I have seen the most exciting Super Bowls in a long, long time.

What's with the Titans and TB, they are now both worse than the Lions. The NO Saints OTOH have been on fire. If they can keep this together through the play-off they are definitely SB bound!
