Being a Vikings fan, I inherently hate Favre but it really sounds like he will join the team. If this is the case, I will be a very confused fan this year.

They do need a playmaking QB. So, if Favre goes to the Vikings, who do you think will be relegated to the #3 spot, Tavaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels. Or will Favre be happy in the #2 or #3 spot?

Another thought is that Peterson might carry the ball less or get thrown to more.

It's all because of Wade Phillips and the Curse of Flutie. As long as Phillips is around, disappointment will abound.

as a bills fan i don't believe in the curse of the flutie but think the cowboys are DOOMED with phillips as head coach ...

It's been rumored that if Favre were to sign with the Vikings, T Jack would be cut, Sage would be back up, and Booty would be the 3rd.

As long as AP gets his touches, I'll be happy. Him along with Percy Harvin should be fun to watch for years to come.

Sad to hear about Air Mcnair. Was one of the better QB's in the league

Wasn't Tavaris Jackson supposed to be the savior of the Vikings when they signed him? How soon the mighty have fallen!

But they would have you believe that their salvation is contained in two letters: T O! More like bring on the Advil!

Terror Owens will give them one strong year, but he is not a spring chicken and his personality may wear thin as it has elsewhere.

Very sad about the Steve McNair story. The league has so few elite quarterbacks, that makes this a huge loss for football. I pray Steve's family will be comforted and his children will be able to look back on their dad as not just a great football player but a good man. As the details of the crime scene leak out, it seems like more and more of a sordid affair, though. Very sad. I can't imagine the pressure that professional athletes have on them with their high profile and seemingly endless cash flow. We should keep Christian athletes such as Kurt Warner in our prayers especially, that their faith my not fail and they can continue to shine the Light.

I was really surprised to see the pundits pick the Giants over the Cards to go to the Super Bowl. (Of course, last year they picked the Cowboys and Chargers at the beginning of the year too!) But I still think Warner still has it and has more maturity than Eli. Eli's good, but Kurt is better, IMO.

Go Colts go?

With Tony Dungy gone, well, we shall see how they all connect. I will miss him terribly because of His strong Christian faith but I am sure that he has planted enough seeds. Marvin Harrison is out and rightly so, he was just not making the plays anymore, perhaps too much personal life getting in the way, with his nite club and the shooting. Then he demanded more money when he wasn't even giving us the downs we were needing? I say good riddance and goodbye. Praying Peyton is 100% as they say and that a good backup is found because we just don't have any.

Can't wait for the season to begin. Football, yes, how heavenly that sounds!!!!!

I picked up the Sporting News preview and they predict NY Giants winning the super bowl against the Pats. Yahoo Sports has that same match-up for the SB but with the Pats taking another title.

I still don't understand the Brady Bunch (as I am calling the sportswriters who seem to be all dreamy eyed at his return). He's been gone for a year and we don't know how that will affect his quickness and timing. He might be a little gun shy when faced with a pass rush. They have a good team but I have a wait and see attitude as opposed to picking them as a Super Bowl contender. The OL allowed Cassels to be sacked 48 times and their defensive line (can't blame the loss of Brady here) was rated 8th in points allowed and 14th and 15th in interceptions, sacks and forcing turnovers - not exactly stellar play. Or does Brady's smile charge up the defense too!

I guess the Pats being in a weaker division they are destined to do well. Probably will be first in that. It won't be until the third week that he'll be tested, in the games against Atlanta and Baltimore.

The Dolphins though much improved probably need more pieces to their puzzle before they are conference let alone SB contenders. And the Jets and Buffalo are not going to be a threat to the Pats in their division. I don't think they'll give the Dolphins any threat even with TO on the Bills.

On the radio the other day, Ladainian Tomlinson was saying that the Chargers are coming together nicely this year. Does that not strike fear into the rest of the AFC? Most people agree the bolts have enough talent to beat any team in the league anytime they want to...

If they can stay healthy and injury free AND don't make some of the dumb on field mistakes as last year - then YES they can be a force to be reckoned with. But I am of a wait and see attitude with them too. LT may become expendable after this season with Darren Sproles taking his spot.

Now that Michael Vick's been conditionally reinstated, what happens with him now?

Almost decision time for Favre.

The Vikings are reporting Favre said no to another season.

Vick is a free agent and can sign with any team. My guess is he'll get some offers from bottom-dwellers.

Here's an article about Vick that made me read the story twice to try to ascertain, "What were they thinking?"

Vick will be the one begging like a dog to these groups so they won't follow him around the country with protesters. I wonder how HE'LL look wearing the choke chain?

I'm surprised PETA doesn't picket all the teams with animal nicknames.

Well that means they'll leave your Cowboys and my Steelers alone. Although the feminazis (to borrow a phrase from Rush) might want it changed to Cowpersons. Steelers are a genderless connotation so my team is safe from both!

Speaking of the Cowboys maybe Romo can learn a bit about toughness from Dallas Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis

Man, I hope Cleveland picks up Vick. That would just be classic!
