Steelers play tonight! I'm stoked! Is it 5pm PDT yet?

Pre-season or not my football fix is at hand!

mapachito. did you read where Tomlin said he has interest in Vick? was in today's USAToday

I personally would love to see Vick as a slot reciever for Steelers, also do return duties and play backup RB. Heaven knows Parker has a glass body.

He would be an assett. after all he did pay his dues. I still think this country is messed up when people kill others((hello Dante Stallworth, Ray Lewis,)) and get a slap on wrist. kill an animal and condemmed for life.

Maybe he knows he can get a quality QB for peanuts to back-up Big Ben but I wouldn't put all my eggs into his basket. Big Ben is the QB I'd want handling the ball because even if his stats won't say he's the best, he know how to win games and has the grit of another not so great QB by the name of Terry Bradshawe.

The Steeler organization would be better for Vick at this time than it would be for them. I think they already have decent back-ups that know how to play the system.

kordell is a sad excuse for a player. one of the reasons a gloried college player can sometimes prove to be a washout in NFL.

Ben is the best 2 minute QB in the game at this time. He can put up the numbers if need be. hello. check his college stats at Miami Oh.

I wouldnt play vick at QB. his speed, his agility, thats a return/reciever/rb type moves. he cant pass great and would want to just run. let him return kicks first year while learn a system

It seems that the Bills found some life against the Titans does this mean new life for the Bills or just another meaningless pre-season game.

I am sure both teams are giving some rookies, and possibly some veterans, their pink slips!

BTW, I am going to watch the Steeler/Cardinals "Super Bowl" rematch on Thursday. The hype will be, as my kids say, "ginormous"! (Did I spell that non-word correctly? )

That should be good...too bad I work tonight. Maybe I can catch a few plays during my breaks.

When you listed your college conference power ratings it proved you are not too college football savvy and this one shows the NFL just might not be your game either. Have you ever heard the name Peyton Manning??

Don't sweat it Joey maybe soccer is where your futbol knowledge lies!

oh ye of limited knowledge. I will still take Ben over Peyton. and you who looks up to a 1 team conference calling it superior to the powerhouses of the other areas. but take your limited knowledge to the college thread for that.

Peyton is good yes. but I will take Ben because he has proven last few years he can pull them out in clutch situations. no one will be a clutch QB along lines of Elway or Montana but he pulled out the vast majority of ones he needed.

I'm sorry but Delilah must have gotten to you with her scissors because Joeywest is 110% correct that Big Ben IS the best when it comes to thinking and playing in the moment and under pressure. And especially he knows how to win the big games and that is another reason why he should be called "Big Ben".

BTW, how many Super Bowls has Manning won? Only one in 10 years? Big Ben has two, one for each hand, in half that time. Manning has to get a few more rings on his fingers to eclipse Big Ben otherwise he'll be another Brett Favre, a QB with impressive stats but only one Super Bowl win in his entire career of 15 years.

(I hope the wife doesn't read this because the Colts are her team! )

Manning is a great QB but I would still rather have Ben in the final two minutes. Now Ben vs. Brady... I'm a lifelong Steeler fan and I'm not going to go there but I don't see how you could go wrong with either.

When all is said and done, Drew Brees is going to be this generation's Dan Marino with all the records, I think. Even still, don't overlook my man Matt Hasselbeck...you know, the guy that plays in Seattle. He's as solid a QB as there is in this decade. Yes, I know, I'm just a Seachicken homer. Well, with Jim Mora coaching the team now, we shall see how much of Hasselbeck's success was due to Mike Holmgren.

BTW...Seahawks are playing the Chargers right now...gotta go!

Not according to all the NFL preview mags I've been reading; two of which predict a Super Bowl appearance by the Pats! One even predicted them to win. Huh?

These sports writers are sure part of the Brady bunch (He's sooooo cute! ) but I'm with you that he'll be gun shy. During the first pre-season he was working mainly from the shotgun. He might not be as mobile as he once was or he is a little of those angry looking men on the other side of the field.

Rosenfels had a good game. Jackson not so good. I predict a change of leadership in Minnesota. Is it me or does Sage Rosenfels look like Ben Roethlisberger?

BTW, congrats to long suffering Detroit fans on the pre-season win against Atlanta! Even if it's just pre-season (and a close win) a W is a W and can be balm to the NFL soul. Now to win one in the regular season.

Funny thing is, Mapachito, the Lions fans are used to this. After, all, they were 4-0 in last year's pre-season . . . before the nightmare regular season began.

So the fans may be experiencing a case of deja vu?

I actually think that the Browns and Bungles [sic] will be vying for the absolute cellar this year. The Lions may end up third from the bottom this year.

Of course, now, my having said that, they will go on to win the Super Bowl!

Cleveland and Washington seem to have a depth problem on their rosters. They couldn't even get a field goal in week 1. Cleveland doesn't have a strong first string so the Dawg Pound is going to be in another years of Dawg Days.

If by mobile you meant a running threat, Brady was never that. I'm guessing a Dan Marino-like ability to move just enough to avoid a sack.

What's going on with Oakland and this report I'm hearing about Tom Cable having punched an assistant? Shades of Buddy Ryan v. Kevin Gilbride?

Here's hoping the Vikes finally have something good happen to them. I still remember that missed field goal against the Falcons in the NFC Championship that would have sent them to the Super Bowl back in, what was it, 1998? That was brutal...only field goal missed the entire year by the kicker.

EDIT: for spelling

He was aiming for Al Davis but missed.
