Seems like more than a few radio stations are now doing all Michael Jackson for their format, however I noticed that they are only playing a handful of hits though. What are some of your favorites? Include both popular and unknown songs. Some of mine are: *Songs From Thriller *Rock with You *Man in The Mirror *Dirty Diana *Smooth Criminal *Who is It? *Will You Be There? *Rock With You *Off The Wall *I'll Be There

Man In the Mirror (this could be played on Christian radio) Beat It (Eddie Van Halens guitar work) Thriller (played every Halloween, Vincent Price's spooky commentary) Billie Jean 50 years old is too young!

Here is one that I haven't heard in ages but it still one of my favorites also: I Just Can't Stop Loving You (with Siedah Garrett)

I can respect the sweet rhythms and unique sound of all of the above, but my three favorites are the love songs Rock With You, I Just Can't Stop Loving You, and The Way You Make Me Feel. I also love the energy of They Don't Really Care About Us. The emotion that comes through in that song is pretty strong, conveying a sense of both desperation and hope. I love the drum loop with the droning synth in the back that suddenly breaks into a guitar and bass part. I think the thing that made MJ's music good was how tight and controlled and crisp EVERY part was, from drum to guitar to bass to vocals, as well as the fast, quick, snapping dance moves (love or hate them, they were skillful moves).

Ben was all time fav, also: Remember the Time, Lady in My Life Got to be There Butterflies Never Can Say Goodbye Rocking Robin Dancing Machine He made so many songs. But it was when he was a Jackson 5 is what I will remember. I will always remember being in the basement of my friends house doing the robot to Dancing Machine in my Afro and Bellbottoms. It is those nostalgic memories which I will treasure most. Not so much the newer albums but the older LP's. I will never forget those days and listening to the great talent of a young man who ultimately lived such a sad life in his later years. But before he was given to the world, he was the black folks' Little Michael Jackson. May God have had mercy on his soul for it is only HE Who is JUDGE and not man, thank you LORD.

I mostly remember the songs from Jackson 5 too, my favorite was I'll Be There. I loved the energy of Billie Jean. I remember watching the Motown 25th anniversary special and seeing him moonwalk for the first time. I didn't pay much attention to him after Thriller, but that was a great album. I have it on cassette somewhere.

When I was a kid I listened to the Jackson 5, but I didn't know about good music back then. As far as Michael Jackson, the music to me is very mundane/bland. The whole concept of dancing while singing is something I can't relate to. I'm not sure if there's anything as uninteresting as someone's dance moves. I don't know if he started this whole dance routing while singing thing.

I guess I need to warn members about posting off topic, which is a TOS 9 violation. This is not a general discussion of MJ's music. The OP specifically asks what are you favorite MJ songs. If you don't have one, or if you don't like his music, then this is not the thread for you. Thank you for your cooperation. BTW, didn't Slash from Gun's and Roses play on his Black and White song? I can't remember if this was true or not.

I saw a youtube of him on Sullivan, Sullivan said Michael was 10 so it had to be a later song, but I don't remember it at all. It's called Stand. Does anyone remember that?

Regardless of my personal opinion of the man and how he lived, I cannot deny he was a brilliant artist, and very gifted. My favorites of his: #1 - Man in the Mirror Wonderful commentary on self-reflection. This song and the accompanying video should be shown to all children in preschool and kindergarten. We can never affect real change in the world until we are first able to look at ourselves and accept what changes we may need to make in our own lives first. #2 - Black or White Race does not matter. Race should not matter. When we look at each other, why can't we all see just another human being, instead of the color of our skin or nationality of origin? A human is a human, and if we were all the same, wouldn't it be a litttle more boring? #3 - Beat It Besides the fact that it is a great song, and very fun to listen to, the message is good too. There is no need to fight over petty things. Why risk your life just to appear "tough"? Is it really worth it? Sometimes it takes a man to just walk away...
