BlessedMamaofmany -> southwestern edge? (6/26/2009 9:41:10 PM)

A salesperson came and pitched some 'learning guides' to us...we listened because I'm always interested in that kind of thing!!
Anyhoo. Has anyone ever heard of/used/considered these books?
BOOKS

I'm interested in other opinions before I spend more time researching them. I did look through a sample book and they are interesting in that they can obviously be used for many years...I do have to wonder how easy it would be to build an entire school year around them.

Thoughts??

We had a 2 handbook set for the older kids. They cost about $90 back then. They weren't used a lot but nice to have for reference material.
I would like to have the 5 handbook set but how much is it?

I've looked at them before. Meh... To me, it would be like an impulse buy. I'm not in NEED of it, it might be NICE to have. But, in the end, I probably don't need it. As much as I love books, I passed on these.

I've had those books pitched to me twice by young Ukranian exchange students. They're terrific (the books and the students)- but I live 1-1/2 miles from a wonderful library, each of my kids have a laptop, and we have high-speed internet. As much as I love books of all kinds, those would be redundant for us- and expensively so.

that's what I'm thinking. With all the free sources on the net and the library...why bother??
We've already decided not too. It's going to be tight enough just getting what we absolutely need...maybe someday when we're rolling in money [8D][8D]
