I wasn't sure where to post this.....my 14 year old son came home from camp with a "paid in full" cross pendant. I was thrilled to see that he bought it for himself and wore it day and night. The problem is that he has sensitive skin and the chain caused irritation on his neck, so he had to stop wearing it. I want to buy a chain for him asap -- there are several on Amazon, but since I am not that familiar with jewelry, I'm not sure what guage of chain to buy. The cross is only about an inch long, so the chain shouldn't be too heavy, but it needs to be thick enough to be a durable guy's chain. I've seen anywhere from 1mm to 4 mm guage chains. Can anyone advise me as to what guage would be good?

or what about those chains the military wear with the dog tags? Those don't usually pose a problem.
