26 was a hard year too. I was closer to 30 than 20, and I was soooo not where I wanted to be at that age.

I've had bad years in every decade I've had, and likely in every lustrum.

Okay - get a grip people who are freaking out over turning 30 or 40 or any other age!

We get better as we get older! I can fully attest to that as I am rapidly approaching 50! Yes, 50! I cannot wait to turn it too! It's all in the attitude people - all in the attitude! If you DREAD something - it's going to be bad. If you embrace it - it'll be wonderful!

29 was the worst year for me. I dreaded turning 30 the whole year. As it turned out 30 was a great year.

I have a sister who is not quite a year younger than me, so for 15 days every year we are the same age. When we were younger she used to give me such a hard time about it. "I'm old as you are, I'm old as your are" ...... I can't wait until she turns 50 in January

It's just facing something unknown and new.

Nothing wrong with it...*shrug* Not everyone is made to tackle each of life's changes with gusto.

And considering our young Christians, I'm not going to discourage them.

My older brother and I are the same age for 15 days too. I used to point out to him every January that we were the same age and he couldn't boss me around anymore. Now I point out to him that he'll always be older than me.

I'm not going to argue about aging being wonderful because it can be, but I would just like people to be realistic and be wise as they live their lives.

While were young, it would be best to know the challenges of older people regarding their health, finances, loneliness and other things so we can make wise decisions that would affect our lives in our twilight years. It's a fact that aging slows us down and health issues are common among older people. Finances is also a challenge for a lot of seniors who didn't save up for retirement. Then there's the loneliness and isolation, lack of respect from society....

These are things we have to be aware of about aging, and be prepared mentally, emotionally, spiritually for whatever God allows in your life. Aging is challenging for a lot of people. I live in a retirement community and it's an eye opener which is making me wise in what I do with my life while I'm still young.

Define your life backwards, then live it forward. Know what kind of legacy you'd like to leave behind, then live your life one day at a time with that goal in mind.

Methinks I see a connection, here.

Are you kidding? This is what makes these threads hillarious! I am so glad you have a great sense of humor! You made me laugh and I needed that; I haven't laughed all week. I voted...I am 41 until October although I like how my kids put it. 19 with 22 years experience. LOL

I refuse to get any older! Think I'll join the lost boys!

PH, you mean why did I think that GraceMD was female? Probably from postings in current events and the user name.

Current events...I rarely ever go in there....I must have made an impression...wow...this could be awkward...

And how is SavedByGrace any more feminine than humbleinspirit? HMMMM?

Just joking. It is all good.

Sorry for hijacking the thread and making it all about lil old me.

That would work if my dentist was embraceable, but he's a crotchety old guy

Suddenly I find myself singing an old George and Ira Gershwin tune.

OH NO!!! I've become a crotchety old guy

After you've looked it up you'll just have time to do the dishes before cleaning your room.
