"Oh what peace we often forfeit, Oh what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer." "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" Yes!! That too is my problem, SS and LL. I can fall on my knees in a catastrophe but often "forfeit my peace" by not consulting God about all my decisions or dealings. Over and over the Bible tells us ALL we have to do is ask but still I rely on my own understanding until later and then its duhhhhh I'll bet that would have gone much better had i consulted God first. Jer 1:12............I am ready to perform My Word. Jn 16:24..........Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. Mt 21:22..........whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. Jer 33:3..........Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things... Jn 14:14..........If you ask anything in my name, I will do it. Jn 16:23..........whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Jas 5:16..........The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Job 22:27........You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you... 1Jn 5:14..........Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

Wonderful and encouraging verses and thoughts sarju60 and prayn4u. Yes His word tells us to call on Him in all things. And He will help us. I need to reminber to call on Him more in the little and/or everyday things. And as we call on Him and He answers and we see it and thank Him for it, we learn to trust Him more. Growing faith! That brings us back to: Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We need to be in His word. All the time! Growing in faith, and love. Hebrews 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. Our faith gives us strength. Strength to endure, strength to do things we didn't think we couldn do, strength to carry us through trials, strength to have the courage to step ;out of our comfort zones to serve Him.

Our faith gives us strength. Strength to endure, strength to do things we didn't think we couldn do, strength to carry us through trials, strength to have the courage to step ;out of our comfort zones to serve Him. Yes, Sarah is such a good illustration. Especially since she laughed when she heard what the Lord was going to do with her. Her 'faith' was not immediate. And isn't that us sometimes? I certainly can say yes. My faith grows step by step and baby steps at that. But even backward steps are steps and that's what the Lord wants, to see us continue, to persevere. Sometimes our steps are wrong. But that is faith too. We step out in faith. And if that step (or multiple steps) are taking us in the wrong direction and we are in fellowship with Him, in His word moment by moment (daily), He will correct us and set us on the right path. But I truly believe He allows us to go the wrong direction at times because there are things we can and need to learn by THAT path. . . things we would never learn otherwise. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! Romans 11:33 We always want to think that wrong ways aren't His ways. . . yet you meant evil against me yet God meant it for good. Genesis 50:20 It's all about Him, what He is doing. And when we love Him and surrender ourselves fully, trusting His care for us, then the 'whatevers' of life become wonderful regardless of what they are because we know He will use them for our good and His glory. Nothing wasted. And all manner of things shall be well. Yes, ALL shall be well. I've missed you, my friends. We've had company for the past four days so never even sat at the computer once. . . too busy talking, cooking, eating, enjoying. . . God is so good.

I've missed you all this weekend, too. Last year in Sunday school the lesson was on trusting God to take care of us. My younger grandson asked, what if a bear was chasing him down the hill. Would God save him? What a hard question! How to encourage him to trust God to take care of him, yet not give him false expectations that would cause him to doubt the Lord later on when something happened. I believe the Lord helped me answer his question. I told him that yes if it was the Lord's will He could cause the bear to turn and go another way. But that even if the Lord didn't stop the bear, it would be because the Lord know that it was best to take him to heaven at that time, and that he would be in heaven forever where there would be no more pain or suffering or tears. That it would be more wonderful than we can imagine.

On the bear question, the Lord shut the mouths of the lions when Daniel was thrown in te lion's den. On the other hand, He didn't shut the mouths of the lions when Christians were thrown into the arena to be eaten in front of spectators and the evil Roman emperor. BUT BY PLACING ALL OF GOD'S TRUTH IN OUR HEARTS AND LOVING HIM AND OUR NEIGHBORS, HE WILL BE WITH US THROUGH ALL THINGS. Along those lines, when I was learning the Truth and testing it, I was forced to settle these questions in my mind. Example, why did my neighbor back his car over his child who was sitting on his plastic car in the driveway, putting the child in the hospital? I knew he was not a Christian, so I wondered if this type of accident is more common among non-believers? I wondered how many times does God step in for Christians, who could have just as easily backed over their child, except they remembered the grocery list was still on the kitchen counter, or the mail man pulled up and saw the hazard in time to stop backing the car. I REALLY BELIEVE THAT GOD HAS DONE SO MANY THINGS FOR HIS PEOPLE THAT GET UNNOTICED, OR SLUFFED OFF AS A COINCIDENCE. On the other hand, a person without God may actually be without God, and good "coincidences" are few and far between. You see? When I was ignorant of the Truth, it seemed as though I was fighting against God. Nothing seemed to go right. But after learning the Truth, things went much smoother and I had so much more peace. I have my son getting out of the Marines this month. I knew he needed to get out of the drunken small town he grew up in, so I did not discourage him going into the Marines while we were fighting in Iraq. I had faith that God would take care of him. God did, and Josh grew up quite a bit, but he still needs to know God. I am having faith and hope that I will be able to teach Josh about God, so that He can teach his children about God. But there are so many worldly influences and worldly family that pull his mind in different directions, not to mention his own selfish desires. I hope and I pray. In the meantime, it might help if I can do what I can to wake up the church. Then it would be easier for Josh to see through the lies and error and witness a loving church, wholesome and vibrant, full of God's Truth. THAT IS WHAT WE NEED! I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’” Do you think that I can wake up fathers and the church? Would that be like moving a mountain? Blessings, Rusty

Good point on Daniel and the lions and the Christians and the lions. As Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said: Daniel 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. quote:
I REALLY BELIEVE THAT GOD HAS DONE SO MANY THINGS FOR HIS PEOPLE THAT GET UNNOTICED, OR SLUFFED OFF AS A COINCIDENCE. Yes, I think so too. He does so much for us. We need to open our eyes so that we can see it and praise Him for it.
