You press a button that says "poke Suzy" under her profile pic. Suzy sees you've poked her when she logs on, and can either poke back or remove the poke. My poking rounds are usually non-ending.

Unless someone upgrades to software that lets you do more thank poking--like sending a flower, throwing a cow, etc. Yet one more reason I am not on facebook; I spend enough time online as it is!

quote:

When I went to give the urine sample a few minutes before I went in the room, definitely something! It wasn't getting heavy though, so I just went ahead.

I had this happen when I was last in the hospital; it does make it a little more challenging than usual! (((((Solo))))) I'm sorry you have to go through all this.

Anne_girl---if it is a "granny" bra you are probably more modestly covered up than most women in bathing suits or even tank tops.

Solo--praying for your health and that the needed insurance is found and affordable. If I may ask what is IC? If it is too personal a question--ignore it.

Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a condition where your bladder is missing the protective lining that keeps the acids in urine from damaging the inside of the bladder. Here's a short info page. Although I have holes... and some type of growth in my bladder, other than having to go to the restroom a bunch with some pain in the urethra, I just don't treat it. The meds don't work. Now, *I* thought that if the insurance denied me over something, they would deny me over getting constant treatment for vulvodynia... and those unhealed surgeries... They denied me over something I cost them no money on.

Solo--thank you for the links. It is amazing what we take for granted when it all just works right.

This is not an envious statement, but I sure wish we had a gardener (and a maid!) I'm glad for you that you have one.

It's a blessing. My wonderful DH works so much (and often out of town / out of the country) that there's no way he could handle mowing/edging the yard on a regular basis -- and I'm allergic to grass and have severe asthma. I tend to the bushes and flowers and trimming/pruning, but the gardeners mow, edge, pick up my piles, and take care of leaves.

My "cleaning lady" is my good friend, Heather. She quit her job three years ago to go back to college and get her degree, but needed some flexible part time positions to help pay the bills. I jumped at the chance to hire her to vaccuum/dust/mop and clean our 3 bathrooms. (She doesn't do windows, and I do the kitchen myself!) So for us it's really a win-win situation, we get help keeping the house clean, and we get to help her pay for college! She graduates next spring and then I'll probably be on my own again!!! (darn!)

Anne-Girl ... you paid good money for your underwear, more people should see it! (smile) I don't think showing a bra strap is immodest.

Immodest would be the man across the street from us who (randomly and haphazardly) cleans his garage under a bright light at night wearing nothing but his underwear, and sneakers. Then again, he also wears his underwear out to get the morning paper, and sometimes to get the mail, and also to retrieve forgotten items out of his car. I am seriously considering purchasing him a pair of shorts (anonymously) and leaving them on his front porch. (And, no, he's not wearing boxers ... he seems to prefer briefs.)

I poke people back who poke me. Sometimes I initiate pokes on my own. It's a great reminder for me to pray for that person. So if you get a poke from me, I'm praying for you.

Poke! Poke! Poke!

It's actually not the strap, its the front of the bra, at the top. My current theory is that if people couldn't see the bra, they could see a bit of cleavage (the top would probably not look that low-cut on most women, but it looks a bit... revealing on me if I wear nothing with it).

Although I do show straps with other tops; I have no t-back bras, but a couple of t-back gym tops. Whatever works (or in my case, comes close to working. I've yet to find a zero-motion bra. )

I am just exhausted this morning. Think I am getting sick too. I've even slept downstairs for three nights in the hopes of not catching DH's cold, but it looks like I just delayed the inevitable. I've never been so constantly sick as I have been since we got married; DH catches cold every 4-6 weeks like clockwork, and I can't avoid him like I could avoid sick roommates. So I catch everything he catches.

On the bright side, it's training me for when I have kids and I'll catch every bug my kids bring home!

Yay for lower gas prices.

I've finally "cracked the code" about teenagers. We exist to (a) feed them; and (b) drive them around.

To that, if you were parents I'd add (c) give them money.

You should try taking Airborne when he first gets sick. It is a tablet that you dissolve in water that is full of vitamins and minerals and stuff. It has helped me avoid getting sick.

lol...good to know!!!! You must pray for me all the time then!! Thank You!!! I really could use it sometimes.

Some things on FB (and the web in general) are annoying to me, but the pokes I really like. It makes me think that someone somewhere took the few seconds to really try to do something for ME...to remember me. And it really helps when you are having a bad day. So I make sure to poke everyone back that pokes me...and sometimes I seek people out to randomly poke.

Yeah, I think at times it's easier to cope if you've had to deal with it since childhood rather than if you grown up and suddenly got something like that. Some of the worst-off women I see (emotionally) are the ones who married not knowing something like this would befall them, and their husbands divorced them when they got sick and didn't get better. I'm just happy, at this point, that I have some options left. I just really don't want to try to put these meds in, and I'm not sure if I can get back and forth to the clinic (it's the Mayo, but I think he has "satellite" offices). I'm going to find a way though... after I get health insurance... and find a job.
