There is one mom I don't approve of at all. It's very difficult for me to let Linz go over there. It wasn't so bad when they just lived a few miles from us, but they moved to another town and it's like 25 miles away. I let her go over there last night for a sleepover but only because it was a slumber party, not just Linz alone. Safety in numbers and all that.

quote:

She still didn't get the dress.

Don't blame you there! The only halter style dress Linz has is her prom dress. But I bought a jacket to go over it.

quote:

For a special occasion dress maybe, but can't they just have a few plain bras...?

Mbee, have you ever checked out http://www.onehanesplace.com/ ? I started buying "Underpinnings" for Linz there. She is well endowed too and we can't even find her size at the store, not even Victoria's Secret. OHP has pretty and plain, something for everyone!

I'll have to check it out.

I need to have her measured 'professionally' but she gets so embarrassed. I was going to take her to VS and buy her 'one NICE one' but she chickened out and said her dad would complain.

He would, but he'd get it.

She is a 38B, which is better than the none existant 38A that I had been looking for. But she complains the band is too tight and I can't figure out how she can be my height and weight with a more 'filled' figure and have a band size 2 sizes bigger than me. (I get it, it just doesn't make sense)

Linz is a 32DD. Very difficult to find. She was wearing 34D but the straps kept falling and the back riding up, so I told her to measure herself and then told her what size she'd wear. I told her she needed to try a smaller size with a bigger cup. She was thrilled to finally find a bra that fits, and now she notices when her friends wear bras that ride up in the back.

Poppa would have to get over it.

I keep telling him he needs to dial it back a notch or two, but it is hard for him.

And, a lot of it is joke but this isn't teasing time...

No, they are too young and it's too personal to them.

Yeah, my mom and I are both well endowed. It's difficult for her to find cute shirts to wear, other girls can wear her shirts and look fine but it's hard for her to wear something and not show some cleavage. She wears shirts under shirts (like the tanks) to try and minimize everything showing. She'd have to wear crewnecks to avoid it all together, even a button down shirt shows something.

DeeDee expresses her astonishment on Linz's behalf as well.

I think it is neat that DeeDee and I can talk about it. PBee just needs to learn how to talk to his almost teenage daughter.

At the dr's office, she said that DeeDee is going to be 'very tall' She is now 5'5". With the dr's accent, I don't know if that is because she hasn't started getting a monthly visitor so she will KEEP growing at this rate (3" a year) or if she will have a growth spurt when she starts getting visited.

I said if DeeDee gets her aunts' "blessings" and her Momma's legs, her Dad will have his hands full and she said she would have to put a hook at the door to hang the discourager.

Button-up shirts are probably out too...they are for me. I feel her pain, but I can't imagine going through that as a teen. I'm glad she has you as a Mom, Kath.

With underwear, sports bras are my friend. No push-up this, enhance that, just straight, hold them in place without the frills. She can pay for her own frills when she's earning an income.

Donna, most button up shirts are made for B Cup women, no larger, so if you're bigger than a B Cup you're going to get gaping. I like the look of shirt dresses, but I can't wear them either.

38As at Target and Kohls at least 80% of the time. You're right though, 38B is so much easier to find. I'm a 38A. She probably has a larger rib cage. Things feel tight across the back or right under the breasts. It's hard to wear any really fitted clothing.

Maidenform for girls "A" cup bras can be found at JC Penney.

A button up shirt...I haven't worn a shirt buttoned closed in years. I can only wear them open with a tank top underneath.

DeeDee's been reading over my shoulder and asked the difference between a button up shirt and a button down shirt.

I guess I am hampered by the fear of buying something that personal without holding it and checking it out (especially when they stick padding in things) and our area carries such a limited inventory.

I made her buy sports bras the other day anyhow. She is going to basketball camp and they want her to have a complete change of clothes for each practice. Someone who has gone explained they mean EVERYTHING because you sweat so much. A package of 3 sports bras was under $10 and there was no way I was buying all new. I told her to rinse them and hang them.

Sports bras are ok for her, but in the winter they aren't as modesty as they are when it is warmer.

I was able to buy sports bras for her at Walmart , and they fit her fine. But she likes those bras with that sort of thick lining because they are more modest, and cover things up. I bought her what I thought was a really pretty bra but it didn't have the lining but did have those modesty daisies, but she said it didn't cover her good enough. What we when we first bought from OHP.com is just got one and saw how it fit first. We stick with one brand too, pretty much, one we know fits, which for her was Bali.

One does have to buy a bigger size shirt, I think. I didn't know they were meant for B cups though.

I like Kohls. Seems a bit nicer than Target or Walmart but not as pricey as a place like Macy's.

Good question! I even tried to find the answer on the net. I've never heard the term button up.

To me though, the top down seems much easier. I see Larry start from the bottom and to me it's harder to match it up to start buttoning. Que sara, sara!

Button down shirts have the collar buttons.

Button up shirts are all of the oxford / looks like a mens dress shirt type of shirts, without buttons in the collar.

Or, at least that was what my mom taught me.

You can choose to only button it up to a certain place, leaving the neck exposed, but you need to button the collar down to keep it in place.

S wears sports bras year-round. During the winter, she always wears a sweatshirt over her tshirt or a tshirt under another shirt. The only issue we have is with her color-guard uniform, which usually requires a dark-colored bra, so we buy a special bra for it - sometimes a strapless with clear straps. She won't wear a strapless without a clear strap. Neither do I. We just feel better knowing the strap is there.

Kohl's is our favorite clothing store. We can find most anything we need at a price that doesn't break the bank. We occasionally find things at other stores, but back-to-school and swimsuits mean a Kohl-shopping day.

I don't have a Kohl's handy, although I remember telling PBee what a Kohls was because they are building one, somewhere - with us it is hard to tell where.

The Penneys store in Omaha is just too crowded, the aisles are really small.

We have a Penny's in the area, Kohls is a lot closer and I don't have to deal with the mall to go there. And we can find pretty much anything we need at Kohl's except jeans for Aryn and Ethan. I buy those at Old Navy.

Aryn is in sports bras right now, but I'm sure that before school starts I'm going to have to take her in for a proper measuring and find her a couple decent bras.

Kath, tell Linz I FEEL her pain! That's my size too and it's near impossible find decent ones without spend a fortune!! Aryn, I'm pretty sure will measure bigger with a smaller cup size or at least I hope so!

Well my parents had to leave today, so we took them and my niece and nephew to the zoo this morning. They just love to go when they come out to see us. We had a great time tho just spending lots of time here at home. I do really wish I could have gotten my nephew to the history center here. He would have LOVED it! My niece and nephew made me guacamole, only it's not guacamole because I don't like typical guacamole and I liked this!! They didn't add the refried beans.

My van is out of commission. and it will be awhile before we are able to get it fixed again. Head gasket is going bad so we don't dare take it anywhere. Can't get a garage in the area to fix it unless we are able to pay them in full when it's fixed, and right now we just don't have that kind of money.

Brain's been back to work 4 days now and he's already worked 2 nights of overtime and could likely work over tonight too. The overtime is nice, but he is exhausted! He's already working Saturday and will likely be working on Sunday too. I just don't get it - They work them like crazy with tons of overtime and then suddenly there's not enough work to keep people working and they have to do layoffs.

Blessings,

Garsy

Kath...I did a news search and read that they remodeled 2 of the Omaha Penney's in 2007 (I wasn't registered with the newspaper, so I couldn't read the entire article). Perhaps the aisles are wider now. When our "local" Penney's was remodeled the focus was on opening up the store (much wider main aisles, etc...).

Of course, you could always shop JC Penney's online....

Actually I did just that when I bought my curtains. I think I bought for 4 rooms. I wanted the kind that insulate and they are hard to find.

I did go in there, about Christmas time, and the aisles are still too close together. I do most of my shopping online so it doesn't matter really, but I wanted to see the curtains for myself and hoped they had them in stock. They did, but the catalog was cheaper so she advised me to order online. That was nice of her.

Poor Brian! He went from 0-60!

The headgasket is out on my van too. It's been parked for 3 years now. He won't work on it because it's too hard, but now he's thinking about it because the Buick has even worse problems so my van is looking pretty good to him now. *sigh* I really miss my minivan.

Headgaskets are tricky, but they can be done. Brian has directed THREE now from his wheelchair. Try going to the parts store and getting the Haynes Repair Manual (or Chiltons) and seeing if you think you can do the work yourself. If you are good with directions and pretty good mechanically, you might be able to.

Another option would be seeing if there is someone at church who isn't a mechanic, but knows how to do it, and hiring them for much cheaper than a garage. A college student, a kid who has completed auto tech in vocaitonal school (BOCES here).

BOCES is how my mum got her nursing license. It sounds like a good program.

I was actually considering calling a local votech school and see if they wanted to use my car to learn how to do head gaskets! I wonder if hubby's friend Joe knows how to fix these? I know my cousin Joe would know how to fix it but he lives in Minnesota!

Blessings,

Garsy
