I swore I was getting the girl up an hour ago, but hubby was able to sleep in and I kinda liked having him to myself. She is moving now. Well, at turtle speed, but moving... I have a coffee story. I didn't feel well yesterday. Headache, upset tummy, tired and achy, but I was doing better after a nap. We went to camp for 'family night' to see BigBee. Every time we go to camp, we pass the same ice cream stand. Last night, since I was cranky with DeeDee (I made her change shoes because I had a headache and those ones popped when she walked) and whiney with my Sweetie too, I suggested we stop. Now, it is important to know that I get an upset tummy when I eat ice cream so while I may chose to do so, I ask myself if it is worth the bellyache and last night, it wasn't. So, I ordered a cone, a shake and a coffee. We had a drawn out discussion about the size of the coffee and I ordered a medium, which must have been 32 ounces, after I said that 32 oz was too much. After I paid and they served the ice cream, they STARTED the pot of coffee. [:'(] It was a slow pot. So I had to wait. I almost left. We were all tired and it was just coffee. But, I had paid as much for it as the milk shake and I didn't like walking away from the $$. So, she poured it, asks if I want cream / sugar and I ask for three sugars and, as an after thought, could she put some ice in it so I can drink it right away. She brought it over with the lid on it it, sugar beside it, and ice CREAM in it. So, I waited 15 minutes for an overpriced coffee I couldn't drink, when the only reason I ordered it was because I couldn't eat the ice cream. I was upset. I couldn't ask for a new one, there wasn't enough coffee left in the pot. I couldn't even pitch it because the only can was right by the window. So I took it home. And, what left me mad at myself was the fact that the last time we stopped there, I just didn't buy for me. That is fine. I like treating the family. This time, I thought I'd take care of myself too, and well...by the time I got home it was funny. And, I tell my kids to go and complain about their food or shut up and eat it, but I just didn't have the energy left. Who would put ice cream in their coffee???? Poppa said they are probably asking the same question at the ice cream stand. I'm over it. Poppa made me coffee when we got home. He even offered to stop at the gas station and buy me one but I won't spend money there unless it is an emergency. WHY? They have a sign on the bathroom door that they are only for paying customers and you must PAY first. We stopped because BigBee had an emergency stop (and he won't use a public bathroom unless it is an emergency) and I wanted a soda and he couldn't go in until after I paid for the drink - standing in line wasn't enough. Which begs the question - if I stop to buy a sandwich, where am I supposed to put it when I go to the bathroom? So, I will only spend money there if I have to, and I didn't HAVE to have a coffee. Hmm School is just around the corner it seems. DeeDee's list for camp grew because it was suggested that she have fresh socks for each practice, as well as underpinnings...
