Iron Butterfly: Inagaddavida (first platinum album), Ball, and (skipping "Live") Metamorphasis (first recorded use of a guitar talk box)
Rare Earth: Get Ready, Ecology, One World (skipping the 1970 unreleased soundtrack "Generation")

Okay, need some clarification. Are we listing any 3 consecutive albums we like, or are we following the OP and listing albums that had a real impact? Looks like we're drifting towards the former.

from what i read, the OP just said come up with an artist who released 3 sonsecutive flawless records. here are my picks... though i doubt any of these will even sell 5000 copies each, which is a real pity to teh music industry. but teh music industry is not prepared for true greatness.
