First,Not sure this belongs in the morality/ethics folder.

Ever just have one of those days when everything just seems so meaningless, drab, boring, etc.
I'm talking for example,doing laundry,cleaning house,etc.

In a game of chess, each move you make ,no matter how insignificant it seems, effects the entire game.
I propose this,each thing you do,every day,effects,in some small way,the world.

I don't know,what do you think?

don't think I'm calling us chess pieces,I just used that as an example,no offence intended.

Maybe it belongs to the current events folder. Are you in your 40's? I was thinking it was simply this stage of life. To quote Steve Martin in Parenthood, "Because I have to." Add to this all the spending by our "leaders" in government, people who think they are smarter and better than the rest of us and will spend our hard earned money as they see fit. Yep, there are days it seems we're nothing more than pawns on the chessboard being knocked off.

Someone has said life is lived 98% of the time in the mundane that we can't control. Live the 2% in obedience and victory and the other 98 will follow.

Are you sick, hungry, dieing, naked, violently oppessed, without a place to live or family or friends? If the answer to this question is no, rejoice. You are more blessed than most of the world. Happiness is not a right. Evene the declaration of independence stated that the inalienable right was the pursuit of happiness. Happiness is a choice. If you are bored, who's fault is that?

On my website I call myself the "Forrest Gump of Chess", and I agree with you. Any one move can change the style of the game or whether or not you are fighting to just hang on or cruising to an easy point.

I recall weather scholars talking about "the butterfly effect" in that whether or not a butterfly was in the air a few months ago in another continent may make the difference in today's weather. Forecasting will never be perfect because of so many (and unmeasurable) variables.
