I need some direction on an ideal, interesting, interactive, fun christian magazine to subscribe to that would be appropriate for my tween daughter. Her neighbor friend subscribes to the "twist" magazine, which is secular, and my daughter wants to also subscribe. This isn't gonna happen, as far as I'm concerned, but I need a good substitute magazine that will interest her while also strengthening her spiritual growth and development. Any suggestions?? I would like for her to become familiar with music groups and celebs who promote the christian way of life, and live it themselves. Maybe this would redirect those interests. Thanks!

Contact Focus on the Family and check out what they offer. They have magazines for every age and interest.

Thank you...I'll check there! My husband and I have been married for almost 31 years and we have 4 children. There were 10 years between our 3rd and 4th children...it was like starting over. Times have changed a little in the past 10 years and I think I need to catch up on the latest things for her benefit.

Check out the group PureNRG. My dd has their cd's and she is also a tween. They write blogs on their webpage too.

I would suggest SHINE brightly magazine. I've written for them a few times, and I like what I see of them. Girl's Life is a great tween girl magazine that while not overtly Christian in content, you're probably not going to find anything too contrary to your beliefs. Discovery Girls is another very good one. American Girl is another one from the makers of the American Girl dolls and products. There's a new magazine called Susie magazine that's probably more teen than you are looking for. Brio was Focus on the Family's mag, but they ended publication this year.
