This is really bothering me and I don't know how to handle my feelings. I work for a Christian base company, we are all believers of Christ. The boss told some one a lie, when it could have been handled without telling a lie. I will not go into what it is, just that he could have told the truth, because no matter that the consequences, the response from the receiving party would be the same. I'm right in the middle of this, therefore I am aware of what has transpired. I've lifted this up in prayer and asked God to deal with these feelings I am experiences.

A little more info might help. What is it that puts you in the middle of this? I would not call my boss out on a lie....but yes, I would pray. You would be surprised at the number of people, Christians included, who think nothing of exagerating or telling a 'little' lie. Where I come from, a lie is a lie and it sounds like you feel the same way. I really cannot say more as I do not understand where you fit in. Is it just how you feel that bothers you?

Unless the lie hurts another, I would just pray and let it go. The boss is the one who has to pay the highest price for the lie. Don't allow it to mess you up.

Unless his lie results in a 'felony' I wouldn't be the root of rumor but if(when)when asked I would be honest, never vindictive and divulge as little information to the other party as possible.

You might tell your boss that you respect him or her and are trying to learn by observing. Then you might state that you were confused by the actions taken would like to understand, so that you can be successful also. Whether you do this or not, you need to take steps to protect yourself. If this is indeed an unprovoked lie, you can not be certain that a similar lie would not be used against you, if the need arose.

Are you sure? Are you bottom-line absolutely sure? Do you have all of the information? my son was once accused by his school counselor of lying, and she called him a liar to me -- and I knew all the facts! She thought she did. If she was smart enough, she should have been very embarrassed. Sometimes, even what we look straight at is not the whole story, and what we experience and or are witness does not tell it all.
