I have never heard of spouse allowance. In the United States, some times a divorcing spouse is ordered by the court to pay a monthly amount to the abandoned spouse for a season after the divorce. It is called alimony. It is not guaranteed by law, though, and generally more is awarded the longer the abandoned spouse was a) married and b) not required or expected to have earned a paycheck during the marriage. Some judges will only order alimony till the abandoned spouse can train for a career. In celebrity marriages, the abandoned spouse might be awarded a lot of money, if the divorcing spouse supported a lavish lifestyle while they were married. If your husband brought you to a foreign country and abandoned you, then you might have a case. However if he is not in the country that you are in, I don't see anyway to make him comply with a judge's decision. If you live in the Philippines, you should check with a lawyer in that country. If you live in the United States and cannot afford an attorney, you could look up Legal Aid in the phone book and see if they can help you. Best wishes!

Like the above poster, I do not know much about "spousal allowance". I did look it up with little results: there are a number of sites where you can download forms on how to appy for it, but none that seem to actually define the term. Your best bet is to contact a lawyer. However, like the above poster has already mentioned, your husband is pretty much beyond the reach of the judicial system in a foreign country.

i always thought souse allowance was just like a joke. i thought it was "yeah, my husband gives me an allowance of 5 dollars a day" hardy har. i mean. i've heard of people saying they have a spouse allowance, but its usually if one works, and one doesnt. the one who doesnt work is allowed x dollars a day to spend on food or groceries or whatever needs to be bougth. and if they choose to not save it, the extra can be saved for teh future. i have no idea if it is a real legal thing....
