Recently, Hollywood seems to be in love with taking classic horror movies and giving them a modern make-over. This is the place to talk about those that worked and those that were scary for all the wrong reasons.

the remake of My Bloody Valentine was REALLY good as far as remakes go... there was a lot of nudity that teh original didnt have... but other than that it was great.

bad ones? not sure. ask my wife on that one. i appreciate all teh remakes so whatever.

I heard day of the dad was bad, which Day of the Dead IMO is the best zombie move out there. Dawn of the Dead was awesome too, but not nearly as good as the first.

I can't wait for WWZ!

I liked the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake...also the 1990 remake of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD.

The remake of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE was pretty good as well...

As did I. Have you heard that Rob Zombie is now doing a remake of "Halloween 2"?

I would have hoped he learned that redoing the first "Halloween" was folly, as it was arguably impossible to top what John Carpenter accomplished.

In his defense, they wouldn't fund his next movie unless he made a sequel. And from the sound of the ending, he's taking quite a bitter revenge on them.

The Thing is the best remake ever. Hands down. I don't think there is any debate about that.

Worst remakes? Anything Platinum Dunes touch.

Does The Thing with Kurt Russell fall under the horror catagory? If it does, then I thought that was a pretty good remake ~ even better than the original.

Know of it? I'm in it. I worked as an extra during the shooting of H2 here in Atlanta.

Although based on what I saw that day, I'm not holding out much hope that it will actually be good....
