Absolutely!

Or even better, cooking together ... and sharing the clean-up duty. Especially with music ... spontaneous kitchen dances are heartwarmingly romantic.

Short answer: yes.

Longer answer: yes, but even more impressive is a man who not only can cook but enjoys it... and can plan a week's worth of meals, and do the groceries, as well as the cooking. For those of us that don't love cooking, planning the meals are more than half the chore, and in my experience, a lot of married men who can cook still expect their wives to do the planning.

Let's put it this way: a woman in my office is married to a man who picks the recipes for the week, does the groceries, and does all the cooking, because he truly enjoys it. He used to put her to work doing the chopping, but now he usually shoos her out of the kitchen. In exchange, she dashes out on occasion for a missing ingredient, and does all the dishes. When she told a group of us at work about this setup, there wasn't a woman there who didn't express her envy.

Mike, I definitely find it to be an impressive and attractive quality in a man.

I would not, however, base being or not being in a relationship with a man based on whether or not he has and/or utilizes cooking skills.

Certainly!

I have no clue; I never was married to one of those. But then I can't cook either.

I never really cared because I love to cook (and I'm pretty good at it).

The gentleman that I'm in a (slow moving) relationship with, I don't think can cook much. He mostly goes to Subway.

If we get marr......, I will be excited to cook for him, so he doesn't always have to go to Subway.

I liked him at first sight on our first date (we had been emailing prior, and he seemed nice, but you don't know until you meet in person). Since I liked him already, I guess his cooking skills didn't enter the equation.

Understandable!

Marriage, while often thought today to be a temporary state, is permanent. Like it or not, it is permanent! We ought to enter it with a healthy fear. Good for you!

If you are to marry, let it be when G-d produces the right one. Even then, it's WORK! After all, the institution was given by G-d to hone us both into shape for the Kingdom, and that honing can be pretty uncomfortable at times.

A single friend was wearing a t-shirt that stated, "Looking for Mr. Right." I didn't hold my tongue. I told her, "Mr. Right won't show his face until after you've been married to him for twenty years."

I love a man who can properly grill (a) burgers; (b) steaks; (c) corn; (d) portabella mushrooms; and (e) chicken.

I love a man who can make bacon, eggs, toast.

I love a man who can make pasta, salads, sandwiches.

I love a man who is willing and able to do dishes and grocery shopping.

If he can do MORE than that, cool beans.
If he can do LESS than that, he better be really cute! (grin)

I have to totally agree with you. I really think it's SOOOO HOT that a man can properly cook MEAT. I LOVE BEEF! I cook fairly well and if a man can cook better, that's so better than STEAK! (Ha! Ha!)

Mmmmmmm I do love a man who can cook.

A man who can cook and is willing to wear Gracey's apron while doing so? Well. . .lets just say the stove aint the only thing heating up the kitchen! LOL

My husband is an amazing cook - but he wasn't when we married. He's learned over the years, not b/c he had to but b/c he wanted to. Now, he rivals me.

Umm mm mm. . .and then there is the apron . . .

I put it like this...a man who cooks...wonderful!

A guy who will cook with ME...you've got me at hello!

Although, I'm even content just with a guy who will help me with the dishes, since I love to cook anyways.

I'd rather cook than wash dishes. My husband washes dishes but he doesn't cook. It would be nice if he liked to cook, but I don't want to get stuck with the clean-up. We're happy.

If you ask me, any single man out there should be able to cook decent meals for himself. It's not that hard. Cooking skills are an important part of being able to live as an independent adult.

It doesn't matter one way or another to me. DH used to grill/cook meats when we dated and now he said he's lost his touch -- even boiling eggs can get too complicated for him. LOL... I wonder if that's just a sneaky ploy to get me to make 'em.

Seriously though, I enjoy cooking and I don't mind if DH has lost his touch. I've kind of taken over since we've married 15 years ago.
