He changes our hearts and prioritizes things in the Kingdom way, not the Worldly way. I dont know about you, but I used to have my priorities all messed up. Thank you for changing my heart, Jesus.

Money is a tool, it's a convenient way to trade goods and services. Without a monetary system, we'd all be back to trading clam shells and beads for groceries, shoes, and hair cuts. It's neither evil nor good, it's just a tool. However, it becomes extremely important if you don't have any and your house payment is late, your power bill is past due, and you are about to be in the dark. The lack of worrying over money comes with good management, living within your means, and wisely investing/saving for the future. The fate of my soul has nothing to do with how much I have, but it has to do with what I do with what I have. With less, my resources are limited and I become more of a bond slave. With more money, I can do more and be more charitable. So to say that it's not important is IMHO a sign of the lack of understanding economics as well as the Bible. We are not meant to be idle waiting on God to take care of us... we are to work, take care of our families, give a portion, and take joy in a relationship with God. He doesn't want us to worry and he doesn't want money to become our only focus. But God does enjoy doting over us like a proud Papa, watching his kids grow and blossom into a beautiful family. Maybe it's a different perspective being young and newer in faith, but as I've grown older, I've come to greatly appreciate having more and being able to do more, while simotaniously not worrying about the "what ifs" of losing it all. I don't know if you'll get where I'm coming from, but I work for reward and the future is in God's hands. I believe I'm doing something right, we've been blessed and my own kids are great.

I dont know what you were trying to explain,APZR, but I think you completely misunderstood her post. It sounds like she is "Seeking first His Kingdom". That is the right thing to do. Dont you agree?

One of the questions that I think many christians in wealthy countries need to wrestle with is the question of: "How much is enough"? And of course, in our broken, sinful condition, we will never have enough. However, sometimes people reach a point where they realize that a bigger car and bigger house won't actually make them any happier. I like to think about money in conjunction with my time and my talents. More money is not necessarily wrong, but sometimes our talents may be better deployed in an activity that pays less money. Obviously this is not a decision that anyone can make for you and one that deserves much prayer.

How much is enough is not a question for me to answer, it's God's decision of how much to bestow. God is the only one who knows my thoughts, feelings, and desires. From my personal experience, the more I enjoy and desire to achieve, blessing his works in the same, the more gifts I seem to receive. I don't see being rich as a sin, and I'm not jealous of my neighbors who have more. A lot of good comes from people, whom I personally know, have dedicate their time and resources under the table and without a headline in the newspaper. Yet, being slothful and lazy is a sin... and that also breads poor finances. Even if you are doing very well, and you see room for growth, pray for more! God will give, and give, and give to a pure heart who wants to bide in his service.

ORIGINAL: APZR How much is enough is not a question for me to answer, it's God's decision of how much to bestow. How much is enough is an important decision when people are making career decisions. For example, my wife works at a job that pays half of what she could make if she got a job in the field in which she has a masters degree in. The lower paying job is a better use of her gifts, but in order for her to take the job, she had to decide that we had: "enough". quote:

From my personal experience, the more I enjoy and desire to achieve, blessing his works in the same, the more gifts I seem to receive. Of course, desiring to achieve does not necessarily involve making money. Our culture is biased towards more highly valuing those activities which make money. That is not always bad, but it can cause us at times to have misplaced priorities. quote:
I don't see being rich as a sin, and I'm not jealous of my neighbors who have more. I don't see being rich as sinful, nor am I jealous of my neighbors who have more. My point, is that I know for my life right now, I don't need a bigger house, I don't need a fancier car. Everything I have right now is paid for and I live a very comfortable lifestyle so from that perspective I don't need to look for ways to make more money. If God wants to bestow more money on me he will, but if he chooses not to, that is fine too. quote:
A lot of good comes from people, whom I personally know, have dedicate their time and resources under the table and without a headline in the newspaper. Some people who are talented do an awful lot of good. quote:

God will give, and give, and give to a pure heart who wants to bide in his service. I pray every day to do God's will, which may or may not involve making more money. That are many things we can do for the kingdom that cost us nothing and those are just as important as making more money.
