Hi sorry this isn't in spanish but I don't speak it. Moderators feel free to move it if it doesn't belong here.
I took spanish one last year got a B+ (could have gotten an A but by the end of the semester I was just so over it all and didn't do well on the final) took spanish 2 over the summer three week course got a D (way too many verb changes to learn in that short amount of time) anyway I'm taking spanish 3 over the winter module in December and in that course the professor speaks only in spanish. We will be reading in spanish and writing spanish essays. So I need some type of software that will get me up to speed. It will be a short course too since the only reason I am taking a language is because the school requires it for graduation and I can't really deal with a whole four months of it like I did the first semester. I just need enough to get a D since it will go in as a Pass grade and not affect my GPA. I basically just want to get it over with. Sorry don't mean to sound mean or anything but its frustrating to be forced to spend over $2,000 of your hard earned money on a course you don't want to take to begin with and will never use. Learning another language should be my choice and in my own time at my own pace.
So is there a really good software out there that will help me at least be able to understand what the professor is saying and be able to get by with writing. I do better at reading it than speaking or writing it. I heard rosseta stone isn't really worth the money and I don't want to spend that much anyway. I'm looking for something cheap.
Thanks

Are you ready to join the war? Know your enemy, prepare yourself.
I don't know about any software, but some websites that might help you freshen up your Spanish:
www.studyspanish.com You can do grammar and vocabulary lessons for free and they come with little quizzes to test yourself at the end. I think you can pay for a delux version, but I don't know if it's any good.
www.conjuguemos.com For practice with conjugation. You can specify what tenses you want to use so you can focus on one tense or you can have it mix up the tenses that you have learned so far.
www.learner.org Click on foreign language and then you can watch Destinos episodes for free. Many colleges require students to watch Destinos as part of their Spanish courses. If yours does, it will be good to watch more than once at your own pace. If your college doesn't use it as part of the curriculum, it is good practice for hearing conversational Spanish. It starts very, very slowly and speeds up from there.
Also, I'm a Spanish teacher, so if you really get stuck during your class, send me a PM and I'll see if I can help ¡Buena suerte!
Hmm. I was forced to take a language as well to graduate, but I liked Spanish... seems like I was the only one. (I had studied it before college though.)
I second studyspanish.com. I never used it unless they forced me to do quizzes in lab (but would have if I needed to); most of the profes recommended it to those who needed some help. It seemed pretty good; I might go back just to polish up, since I want to maintain my skills, lol.
