Hi all, I was wondering how everyone fits in personal bible study in the midst of college classes. I am currently a ministry student, and while talking with friends I've found that some of our biggest challenges are fitting in personal study while taking theology and other classes. How do you make bible study a priority and stick to it? Peter www.thewordismylamp.com

You just have to pick a time slot and stick to it.

ORIGINAL: peterunz Hi all, I was wondering how everyone fits in personal bible study in the midst of college classes. I am currently a ministry student, and while talking with friends I've found that some of our biggest challenges are fitting in personal study while taking theology and other classes. How do you make bible study a priority and stick to it? Peter www.thewordismylamp.com Studying the Bible and theology academically is very different from the time we spend in the Bible to immerse ourselves in God's presence. First, since you ARE studying the Bible academically, I would change the term that I use for that period of time I set aside for personal "study" and use a different term for it. So, your question would then read like this: "I was wondering how everyone fits in personal time in the presence of God in the midst of college classes. I am currently a ministry student, and while talking with friends I've found that some of our biggest challenges is spending personal time with God while taking theology and other classes. How do you make time with God a priority and stick to it?" Don't study the Bible in your personal time. Ride on the Scriptures into the presence of God in your personal time. Otherwise, you will graduate with all of the facts and none of the heart.

There is nothing in scripture that says a bible study must be conducted at a certain time or place. We can and should be able to do our personal bible studies without any intrusions. In other words, pick a time and place where you have some peace & quiet to pray and study the bible.
