I have six. I have:
a tinkerbell on my upper back, a Jesus fish on my hand, a peace frog and a dragonfly on my right forearm, an angel on my right bicep, and a smattering of cherry blossoms with the intials J.F.T (just for today) on my left wrist.
That might sound like a lot, but they're all quite tasteful and pretty. I got all of mine after I became a Christian, well in to my 30s (as in almost 40) and all of them since I got married. My DH loves tattoos and has so many you can't count them individually any more. He loves mine and has helped me pick out each one. They all mean something to me and I don't think I will ever regret them.
That being said, I would never get any name ( not even DH's) tattoed on my skin. Same reason why I won't get my clean date tattooed. Anything can happen and I don't wanna be stuck with a name or date I have to remove, cover, or explain away.

I was once married to a guy who did tattoos. But I don't even have as much as a dot. I find tattoos interesting on some folks but I don't want one on myself.
It took me about 4 years to decide what I wanted for my tattoo.
I have one on my lower back done only in black. The only time people see mine is when I wear a bathing suit (which isn't very often). It is of a maltese cross (I've been a firefighter for 6 years now and will always treasure my time doing it no matter how old I am). The maltese cross has Celtic knot work type designs in it and off to the side on the outside (because I'm Irish). Above and below the maltese cross is a Gaelic saying that translates to "My here forever". This saying goes for my grandfather who was just that. I got the tattoo shortly after he passed.
I really want to get another one of small footprints (to go with the poem). I don't know where I would get it though and truthfully probably will never end up doing it.
