I may not be thrilled about it, but I can't see why they shouldn't. Theaters are businesses, after all, and if it helps them make some money, maybe it'll keep ticket prices a bit low (or not-so-high).

The movie starts on time. Who cares what's shown before?

I've been noticing that once the lights dim, there are actually fewer previews & commercials before the movie than I remember seeing as a kid.

As long as they don't start interrupting the movie for commercials, I really don't care.

I don't mind as long as the commercials are only shown before the stated start time of a film.

So if a movie is listed as starting at 7pm and you have to sit through 10 minutes of commercials before the film starts at 7:10pm, then I get angry.

But I don't mind commercials as part of a pre-show reel, nor do I usually mind movie trailers.

They don't interrupt movies (yet), but a lot of the product placement these days can be incredibly distracting.

Transformers 2 was one of the worst offenders. It seemed like almost every scene was loaded with some form of blatant product placement.

I remember the day when there was NO product placement at all on TV and that was distracting.; Every car had the brand and model names removed, every can of beans had a grey plain generic label. It was always interesting to go to the movies and actually see a can of Coke or Pepsi instead of grey who-knows-what.

I guess either extreme is annoying.

Maybe it's just the movies I've been to lately.... but I don't see as many commercials during the preview time that also air on TV. Then again, maybe I'm not watching that much TV either.

Commercials don't bother me. I actually like watching them and the trailers before the movie. Feels like part of the "ritual" of going to the theater.
Just as long as they aren't interrupting the movie. (And I can't imagine that ever changing.)

If I get to the point at which the preview time irritates me, then that just means I take greater advantage of my NetFlix membership.
