This is the "Marriage" forum but it seems we talk far more about trouble and divorce than a healthy marriage.

As of today we are married 20 years and I turn 44.
Yes we said "I Do" on my brithday.

Perfect, no, healthy, yes.

We both believe things just get better from here on out.

Glory be to God.

Amen
I have been married for 4 years now (a second marriage) and I have never been happier. My marriage is brilliant godly and good. My husband is the BEST man ever.
I have a marriage that I never dreamed possible. We had a word from God through another person, that our marriage will be like a second honeymoon, and it is. Its just gets better and better all the time. We have both come alive since we met after beimg deeply hurt by our previous spouses.
God truly can and does restore to us all that we have lost and so much more.
Thank God for marriage.

We've been married for 15 years. I'm 33 and he's 36.

Our marriage has definitely been bitter-sweet. Yes, there's been tremendous trials, errors and heartache; but you know what? I wouldn't trade my blessing of a husband for the world. I do believe our marriage is a gift from God.

Marriage -- like our relationship with Christ -- is a lifetime commitment. I believe with all the hardships that come with marriage, there's also endurance, strength and healing. God has really been working in my hardened heart for the last year and I'm finally learning that this marriage isn't about me--it's about honoring God!

We're more in love with each other and still striving to improve: we put dear kid on the plane for college, then DH pulled all the drawers out of the bathroom, put them on the kitchen table, and we threw out half the stuff there. Cleaned it all up and put it away neatly. The kitchen is next! The living room is freshly painted, and we sit on the deck and watch the sun go down. This man is committed to loving me, and I want to be with him forever.

We'll never have a lot of money, but we are rich. Thanks be to God!

Yay!! Thanks for starting this thread!

Last fall, we reached our 22nd anniversary, and so at age 44 I'd been married half my life!! God's given us two kiddoes (teens now). This fall, my hero and I will be married 23 years. He's like the example of Christ to me. He disciples me in Christ simply by living his life for Christ. I tease him that he must have gotten a two-for-one deal on the "in sickness" part of the wedding vows, because I've been ill with one thing or another (lymphoma, fibromyalgia, chronic kidney disease...) almost our whole marriage...but he has uncomplainingly and selflessly come alongside me in everything such that I can't help but wholeheartedly come alongside him. On our wedding bulletin, we quoted Galatians 2:20, "It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loves me and gave His life for me." It seems that the Lord has allowed this to be our marriage verse, letting us learn the truth of it more deeply together year by year.

I loved reading everyone else's stories, too!

I can connect to the "in sickness" part as well. I have a knee injury right now while moving house. I just finished cleaning the bathroom sitting in an office chair. My hubby has been packing everything up to the truck, including furniture, and all by himself. We are still joking around and trying to have fun while in pain. Isn't it love?

I think this is a fantastic thread. I am one of the ones who came to this forum due to an affair turned to divorce problem, but it is SO ENCOURAGING to read about the joy and happiness you have all found in your marriages. Go Bless you all for showing me hope through the storm.

Well, we have had our ups and downs over the years. But the Lord is good and has kept us together. We continue to grow closer to Him and each other. Next month we will celebrate our 32nd anniversary.

Again: GOD IS GOOD! (and so is my DW!!!)
