I used to have a book written during the charismatic renewal in the early 70's which I lent to someone and lost. I would really love to be able to read it again now for a number of reasons, but can't remember the title or the author's name, but I think it had a front cover with some blue on it!! It was written by, and was about, a minister who was over-worked in his parish and his congregation sent him on a vacation. During this time, the Lord spoke clearly to him that it was HIS work not the minister's to build HIS Church. This had a profound effect on the minister and the whole life of his parish was changed dramatically from that time. Does anyone please remember this book and can give me the details so I can re-purchase it? I think I would remember the author's name if it was mentioned to me. Thank you, Barry

There were a couple of books that sound similar in content by Juan Carlos Ortiz: Call to Discipleship, Disciple.... but I do not recall any by him with a blue cover.

Don't you wish Amazon.com had a feature where you could describe the contents of the book and it would pop up?

I've located many books by describing the contents or general outline on Google. You may have to refine your search parameters a few times, but it works.

And the frightening thing is you may find yourself! I did. I was trying to locate a quote. I didn't know who to attribute it to. I thought it was from Kathleen Norris or Annie Dillard. I wasn't sure. So I put the quote in google and found: ME! I had used the quote and google found me. Ha! I wanted the real source. And I never did find it.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed and tried to help me. I will now try a search on Google. IF I find it, I will post the details on here in case anyone else is interested in reading it. It's definitely not 9 o'clock in the Morning or any of Ortiz's books. I remeber those quite well. Barry

Barry, I just had a thought. Back in the 70s there was a publisher called Logos Publishing that did a lot of spirit-filled titles. While Logos itself has been out of business for many years, you might try Googling the name Logos Publishers and see what pops up. Also, there's another book-buying list I've used in the past called AbeBooks, and they specialize in hard-to-find titles. Hope that helps!
