She's a comedian but now is making a living at doing reality TV shows and stuff making fun of her status as a second rate celebrity.

It's a shame that the Wiki contributor there couldn't spell "fascist" properly! lol

Don't tell him that ~ he'll accuse them of some sort of attack.

P.S. Kathy Griffin annoys me and I won't watch her. Yeah, it wasn't KG we were watching, it was Design Star on the HGTV network (not sure what the network is in australia though)

HGTV is very dangerously addictive (at least for me). If we downgraded to basic cable, it's the one channel I would miss terribly. Haven't watched Design Star though; I only tend to watch whatever's on when I feel like watching TV (which isn't often).

Parking Wars on A&E ... I've watched that one and it's so weird. I like the one about Southwest Airlines. I don't know if it's still on, but you learn alot about people and our natures by watching some of these shows. Dd's loves Ace of Cakes and I think it's pretty neat too. Anyone seen The Middle yet? That show just cracks me up. I usually don't like most sitcoms, but this one just tickles me .

That show just cracks me up. I usually don't like most sitcoms, but this one just tickles me . I used to watch the one on Southwest Airlines, too. Yesterday on our flight (Southwest), there was an empty (middle seat) in front of us. We were still in the boarding process, and the plane was mostly full at this point. A lady asked the gentleman in the aisle seat in front of us if it would be possible for him to move so she could sit next to her (9yr old??) son. He said he would, but only if she could find another aisle seat for him (which were completely gone at this point). There were 3 in our family, so we already took up a row. A flight attendant made the announcement asking if anyone was willing to switch (when my family boarded plane there were numerous middle seats available) - and not one volunteered. However, a minute later a gentleman behind us graciously offered to move, and the lady hugged him. On one hand, I understand that people get their boarding passes early to ensure they have the seat they want. On the other hand, a woman was wanting to sit next to her son. What do y'all think about this?

ORIGINAL: Harvie I think that some people with long legs (or other issues) really want the aisle seat or the exit row and are reluctant to give it up. I think that a 9 year old, if necessary, can sit by himself reasonably and safely if no one wants to switch seats. I think it's nice that one gentleman was willing to switch and accommodate the family. I think Southwest got a lot of publicity last week for kicking off that mom and her screaming toddler off a flight. I think it would be nice if we could get a low cost airline like Southwest to fly into our city. The first man seemed kinda borderline-rude about it. If I was the mom and had to face the split I would have put her son next to him. lol. Then again, that's the snarkiness in me. I've got long legs, too, but I've always been gracious to move in such circumstances - but nowadays I travel in packs of 2 or more so I no longer have that option. Oh, and on the way down, we did have a SCREAMING toddler in the aisle next to us. I had a bad sinus headache to begin with so I was not a happy camper.

My step-mother always takes the aisle seat because of health issues (she developed a blood clot once after a flight to Australia and has always ensured that she moves around a lot (walks up and down the aisle). I prefer the aisle or window seat but I'd have moved for the lady probably.

He would be very nervous and I would not ask him to sit alone. I would think it very rude for an adult to not relocate for the sake of a pre-teen child. When you buy tickets, can't you ask for two seats together? Or does it not work that way?

I agree with Donna. For heaven's sake act like a flippin' GROWN UP and change seats. Geez. People are so stinkin' selfish.

I suspect some kids would be hyper excited about flying (esp for the first time) and would want to sit next to someone they knew so that could talk about how it felt and everything.
