Today our culture has changed dramatically. More people are spending a tremendous amount of time online. We believe that The Joy of Jesus must get to these people. Tell me what do you think? http://thejoyofjesuschurchonline.blogspot.com/

Do you perform baptisms, weddings, ordinations, funerals, and laying on of hands online too?

I can hear Oral Roberts circa 1960 now: "Just lay your hands on the television screen..." or in this case the computer monitor. Didn't work then, won't work now. How do you disciple someone over the internet?

Tell me what do you think? http://thejoyofjesuschurchonline.blogspot.com/ What I think is not important. What does Gods word say? "...and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more, as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:24,25

I think this is a great idea, especially for people who are disabled and have a difficult time leaving their house. And for people who spend most of their time on the internet. Do you perform baptisms, weddings, ordinations, funerals, and laying on of hands online too? [/quote] That is a good point. This online church is not a complete experience, but is at least spreading the word to those who don't have the opportunity to go to church.

I think it can be a good addition to assembling with others. One CAN do both, you know. It doesn't always have to be one is right and everything else is evil.

I have known people who "attend" church by watching various pastors on tv. I guess this basically is the same principal as watching or participating online. I can see an advantage for those unable to get out or who have various conditions that may getting out exceptionally difficult. But what of fellowship with other believers? What of building relationships face to face and establishing that intimate connection through meeting together? What about being lead by the example of others, of having someone tell you that they're glad to see you and those to lay hands on you in prayer? I guess attending church either online or watching tv is better than nothing but there's much to be missed by not appearing in person.

I say the internet is better than nothing, would anyone disagree here?
