I've always been a fan of Agent Smith from the first Matrix. Not so much the latter two, just because I don't enjoy much of anything from the latter two Matrix films.

I agree completely. He was really smooth and cool in that first one. -Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Tim Burton's original "Batman" movie. The movie itself is kinda hammy and campy compared to the recent ones, but you gotta admit he stole the whole show. ( "This town needs an enema!" ) -Darth Vader. Need I say more? ( "Apology accepted..." Remember that scene from TESB? ) -Kahn. I was already a fan of Ricardo Montalban before Star Trek 2, and after seeing him in that role I will never remember him as Mr. Rourke but seldomly.

Vader, of course (would like the NatM2's Pharoah in the ST universe--yeah, how's that smart mouth now!) Michael Corleone in Godfather Part 2 Travolta's character in Face Off I suppose the Predators would be villains, too.

Some of the villains that I was actually disturbed by in my youth (ish): Emperor Palpatine. Darth Vader never frightened me much for some reason. Palpy, OTOH, was pure evil and creeped the Jujubees out of me. Freddy Krueger. Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers were just forces of nature, too clumsy and bumbling to be scary. Freddy, OTOH, was manipulative and tricky, and creeped the Jujubees out of me. Valek from John Carpenter's Vampires. Vlad never frightened me much. Jan Valek, OTOH... Yeah, you guessed it. Jujubees. The T-800 (Terminator). Fight as hard as you want. He won't feel it. He will get back up. Ahnuld's T-800 went back in time and destroyed the Jujubee facotry before I could even eat any to have scared out of me. Agent Smith. Same idea, though instead of remaining a cold relentless hunter, he becomes psychotic. There are no Jujubees. General Zod, Ursa, and Non (Superman). "Come to me, son of Jor-El! Kneel before Zod!". The guy stood his own against Superman for crying out loud. If that isn't disturbing, I don't know what is. It may have had something to do with Jujubees laced with Kryptonite.

i realize its the 'cool thing to do' to hate re-dos (special editions) and prequels/sequels 30 years after the fact... but think for yourself Cool or not, I sat through the first one, had to turn off the second one, and didn't even waste my time on the third. Those were just three absolutely horrible movies whose only redeeming value was some nifty special effects. And that's my personal opinion, not something I read somewhere. Vader is evil, that's all you need to know in any of the three originals. Why he's evil doesn't matter. The original trilogy was a space age cowboy opera with Vader as the guy in the black hat. We don't need to know why he's bad, just that he is.

Oh, and need to mention the Nazgul, Ringwraiths, too. Especially in Fellowship, they were great bad guys.

BelleWeather, that would be Aliens instead of Alien. That's almost semantics, one 's' separating the sequels. I vote for The Conversation. Not sure who was exactly the main villain it, I suppose Harrison Ford. But it was one of the most suspenseful and terrific movies.

Darth Vader is #1. He's so badddd but he can also be quite hospitable. Remember with the "We would be honored if you would join us.." invite to dine on Cloud City (I've always wondered what happens after those doors closed: Did they actually all sit down and have a meal? Or did they go right to the torturing?). Davy Jones from POTC: Dead Man's Chest. So menacing, and slimy (inside and out). When Jack Sparrow looks through the telescope, and Jones pops up in front of it makes for a great shivery moment there. Gollum from LOTR: The Two Towers. Yeah he's great from both this and ROTK, though, I gotta point out how he's got one of the best entrances ever in TTT. Syndrome from The Incredibles. I love the too-big-for-his-britches persona, along with the funky hair.
