The Nativity is a good one. But like most people said, most movies will have some secular thing to it, even if it is a really good one.

most recent rendition of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. If you mean the Disney one, it's not released yet, or was just released.

ORIGINAL: Hatfield Hmm, saw the topic of this discussion and really hoped that there'd be a mention of the most recent rendition of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. But I guess that would be too easy a hope. (I've not seen it, was hoping that someone might have seen it and given their thoughts on it.) I saw the Disney version with Jim Carrey on Friday, when it opened. I thought it was great. It was definitely darker than a lot of the older movie versions, but-- with the exception of some gratuitous action sequences--- it was true to the original story. I don't generally like Carrey, but he made for an excellent Scrooge. And the animation detail was incredible. As to whether it fits all the criteria of the original post, I guess it doesn't. However, I do think the spirit of it emulates Christ-like themes--- don't store up things on earth when you should be storing up treasures in heaven. To that end, you don't just give of your possessions but also of yourself.

Hmmm... I think Elf (Will Farrell) was a type of Christ, his coming rejected by his father (James Caan) who represents the Pharisees... no, wait, he was Moses, yeah Moses, taken as a child and raised by Pharoah (Bob Newhart)... no, no, that's not it... he was John The Baptist, hailing the coming of the Messiah (Ed Asner)... Nope, can't make it work. DRAT! Well I tried, but your criteria is rather limiting.
