I wonder if these headlines and/or sites have any connections? quote:

Some pretty unprecedented steps are being taken in the world today... steps that appear to be remarkably similar to those that I read about in the Bible, regarding the last days. What amazes me though, is that when some people who claim to believe the Bible are confronted with this stuff, they almost militantly say, "No way! You're just a conspiracy theorist. I believe the Bible and all, but..." I guess the reason I have brought this up is that we (those of us who call ourselves by the Name of Jesus Christ) are supposed to be taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth (it is between you and God how you do that). I believe that the closer we get to the end of the age, the more urgency we should have in reaching the lost (it should utterly break our hearts to the point of weeping every time a soul perishes apart from the LORD). But so many people, even those who call themselves Christians, have shut their eyes to what is going on in the world today, and confined themselves to a nice little bubble of comfort and ease. They seem to think that if they think that something isn't happening, that it isn't happening... that if you say that green isn't green, that it ceases to be green. All for what? To hold on to our lives in this world? What did Jesus have to say about that? The truth is, as verified by James 4:13-17, that when we are confronted with news that we know is true, we should take it upon ourselves to inform others about it. Yes, I know that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. But in the case of sharing the Gospel with others, even if we are almost certain they won't drink the water, we are called to lead them to it. What will I say to God when I am standing before His throne and He asks me why I did not warn the people? "Uh, sorry God... uh, I thought that I could ignore it and it would go away" or "Sorry God, I was too busy loving and holding on to my life in this world"? Consider the prophets... Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah, John the Baptist, etc... They were considered fools for God's sake. I'm not sure what the Hebrew equivalent of "Nut Job" would be, or "Spoof", or "Conspiracy Nut", and the list goes on and on - but I am sure they were called these names by the majority. But the truth was more important to them that what others called them, good or bad. When will we, as followers of Jesus Christ, set aside our pride, our self-serving attitudes, our fear of the opinions of men, etc., and be willing to become fools for Christ? Like the Apostle Paul, who wrote: quote:
We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored! To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now. I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you... Therefore I urge you, imitate me." (1 Corinthians 4:10-14, 16) In no way do I say any of this to shame any of you. For I too am guilty as charged. It is just my prayer that we will open our eyes. It is time that we, as the Body of Christ, separate ourselves from the ways of this world. We have failed miserably in this up to this point. We must start trusting God for all our needs... not our government! I encourage all of you (myself included) to seek God... wait on Him, and we WILL see His glory in the earth. We are living in what some would call terrible times. But I want to encourage every one reading this post that God will use these "terrible" times for His glory... which leads me to believe that we are heading into the greatest hour in the history of His Church. Please note: IN NO WAY am I calling the people to take up arms against our government or those who are in power in this world. We are not of this world, and our weapons are not carnal, but mighty in God! Nor do we wrestle with that which is flesh and blood. But we must not submit to our government to the point of doing what God has commanded us not to do, and in fact has forbidden us from doing. We must stand for the truth! We must call evil what it is! We must name the monster in the dark and have no fear! God is our Shield and our Place of Refuge. He is our Mighty Tower. I know this post may be a little random... somewhat off topic. But this was weighing strongly on my heart. God bless each of you as you seek the LORD in all things. Wait on Him in all things and His glory will be revealed.
