I'm kind of taken aback that he's slept with more than one woman who works for him.

Solo, are you serious or being snarky?

I use to watch him all the time, but found that over the years he's gotten mean and cranky. I'm not suprised at all that he's a no different than any other unGodly man on this planet. I don't get why this guy thought he could blackmail him.

Serious. I didn't read the link, but I heard him talking about it. It just seems strange to sleep with more than one woman (I'm pretty sure he said "women") that works for him, and I'm wondering if they all still work for him.

Depends on what you think is funny. I don't like all of his jokes, but I love his sarcasm!

In this case, I think his behavior was terrible in sleeping with women he works with. It is sooooooo dangerous on so many levels. However, the blackmail is no better. Perhaps this will force Letterman to step up and make things right.

I'm sure Sarah Palin is ROFLOL over this turn of events.

Is it really that strange, Solo? The reason he slept with more than one woman who worked with him is, No. 1, he's an ungodly man, and, no. 2, there were a number of women working for him that were willing to sleep with him. Men don't have multiple affairs unless there are multiple women willing and eager to accommodate them.
As for his wife, if she was willing to live with him for so long without the commitment of marriage, she shouldn't be surprised that he stepped out on her. They're all losers, IMO.

I love it when celebrities come out with the truth to protect their families. Why weren't they thinking about their families BEFORE?

It's strange because it doesn't seem like he thought about the "what ifs." What if they tell someone? What if he wants to fire one-- what if she then decides to leak it? I know most of the population probably doesn't think that sex outside of marriage is wrong, but there's too much here that can bite him in the behind.

There are some people who are monogamous and live together before marriage. Just because you live together doesn't mean you're with a cheater, although I don't agree with it. <shrugs>

So, I just read some of the details. This producer guy had a lot of guts.....sheesh! I can't believe he plead not guilty. The evidence is HUGE against him.

Letterman put CBS in a very precarious spot. By sleeping with subordinates, he created a huge liability for the network. If one of his flings gets mad and sues, she will have a very good case just because of their positions at the company. The amount of influence he had over his flings makes a very strong case for sexual harassment.

I am also surprised that the director was so stupid to think he could pull this off. Who accepts personal checks for blackmail? or any check? Can we say paper trail?

I hate to say this, but I'm glad Letterman was put through a personal hell. His crude and sometimes vulgar jokes (such as Palin's 14 yr. old daughter having sex with Alex Rodriguez) are tasteless. He needed a reality check to show him he can be vulnerable too. Will this humble him a bit? Who knows, but I don't feel sorry for the guy.

I don't feel sorry for Letterman, but I think we are forgetting about the producer here. How are his actions any better? Why aren't we bashing him? Is it because he didn't make a poor comment or joke about our lovely Mrs. Palin?

The comment wasn't about MRS. (Sarah) Palin, it was about MISS Palin, her young teenage daughter.
The producer is a block-headed scum bag. Whoever this chick is, she can sure pick'em.
This is the world of celebrities, though. They are catered to and pampered and totally out of touch with reality. I doubt Letterman gave a second thought to the ramifications of his actions until he was faced with blackmail. I'm sure there will be lawsuits coming from some if not all af the less-than-virtuous opportunists who slept with him. As I said, LOSERS all around.

I'm not bashing him because he didn't have sex with multiple subordinates at work. And Mr. Letterman made a very crude comment about a minor, not a poor comment. No matter whose daughter she is, that offends me as a father who has his own daughter.

But your not offended at someone who tries to extort $2M dollars from someone's very poor choices?

I saw the video where He admitted to having relationships with females at his job. The response of the audience? They thought it was funny, so they laughed. Pretty shocking in my opinion.

Nah, that's just good ole American ingenuity at work. Never mind it's against the law, LOL. And last time I checked, while sleeping with subordinates may be an unwise choice, it's not illegal in a criminal sense unless a partner is under age.

I think at first they thought it was a joke, but then as he went on, he said some of the things in a more comedic manner than I would have. I think he did it on purpose.

I think what struck me most about this was the brazenness of Letterman's announcement on his show.

No question, extortion is terrible and if the accused is guilty, he should be prosecuted and punished. I think people are commenting less on the alleged extortioner than on Letterman because everybody knows who Letterman is. Hearing that a previously unknown person may be guilty of extortion probably doesn't affect most people one way or another.

I thought that was obvious. By the end of the 10 minute segment, nobody was laughing.

I was also disappointed with the response of the audience when they applauded Letterman when he admitted that he had sex with some women who worked for him.
When did adultery become a laughing matter? This disgusts me.

It would be nice if people would get their facts straight around here. Yes the joke was tastless, but it wasn't about the 14 yr old. He thought the older one was there) sheesh.

I find it interesting that some are holding himn accountable to God's laws when he's not even a believer? We're not to judge the unbeliever at all.
