For me the issue here is security and confidentiality. I understand this is a computer in a secretarial space, but is it connected to the church network at all?
I counsel at several different churchs in the area here, and in each church (except one) I have a computer on the desk in the office I use. In a couple of the church's, the office is used for other things when I am not there.
I keep client files on these computers. They are password protected. There is confidential information about who I see, the issues they are dealing with, etc. It would be VERY inappropriate for anyone (pastor included) to fire up that computer and use it to print bulletins, etc.
When you are dealing with people's emotions and their money (as most churches do) you need to be very protective about both. A second computer would not cost much, and could be accessible to ALL volunteers to work on things like bulletins and the like. That would resolve the whole issue.

I didn't know you were a church secretary, FunBetty! Welcome to the club!
I was in your shoes a year ago....
I have come to the conclusion that nothing in my office is really 'mine'.... people rifle through my drawers to get whatever they may need. They use the computer if someone else happens to leave the office door unlocked (pastors office and secretary's office us the same outer door).
Needless to say, I don't put anything personal on that computer. (I love my jump drive!)
When I came back from only a couple days off... the 'fill in' secretary had messed up the sacred membership files.... (I put a password on them last week.)
Everyone has been here longer than me.... soo... uuummm.....
I place healthy boundaries where I can as far as how much I do for others.... and I have figured out how to let go of my efficient office ways and chill.
By the way.... if you come across a handy (not rude) saying that deters gossip.... will your share it with me? I need a sign for my office...
