What is yours favorite book of all time? I'm trying to find what all readers consider to be the best book of all time to be.

I think this was done in another thread, but what the heck. Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. I have read hundreds of books, by scores of authors, and that one (made into a trilogy by the publisher) is still the standard by which I judge all the others.

I agree with E_Lin about the author, but the book is different. I first read The Hobbit in 1975, and have read it at least once a year ever since. Best book ever written? You'll never get a consensus unless you count the Bible as one book.

Maybe Lucky meant "besides the Bible"? The Jesus Style by Gale Erwin. Devotional: Chuck Swindoll's Come Before Winter (and share my hope.)

Outside of the Bible, mine is The Holy War by John Bunyan.

Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God by Jonathan Edwards. (Of course that's apart from the Bible.)

Um... This is hard. Maybe Respectable Sins. I said this in another thread! But who cares?

My favorite of all time is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. I can't even begin to describe how great that story is.
