I marked those that you quoted, too!

I loved the parts about J. and work. And the parts about getting in steam launches way and other people getting in the way. His delivery is just hilarious. Like he has no intention whatever of being funny.

Yes, that dry British wit. I like that kind of humor.

Hey, y'all are giving me an idea! Chunks of spam on a stick, dipped in batter and deep fried. That could be the hot new state fair food next year! I could set up a booth and make a killing....literally. I guess creamy peanut butter could be used as a dip.

Hey Kerrlaw...great retirement plan.

Anybody try this year's state fair food trend? Deep fried butter? Or how about the chocolate covered chicken fried bacon? I didn't eat either.

No.

I did get some very yummy roasted almonds, though.

I'm not interested in most of the exotic and highly contrived concoctions that midway vendors are trying to top each other with, but the fried butter caught my interest.

They say it is like eating a buttered roll, which I do from time to time, except that the butter is flavored, with grape, cinnamon, etc.

However, I had a fried roll once, and didn't like it.

And since I don't go to fairs, I probably won't try it unless Dollywood starts selling it.

Why would any sane person chunk a rock at a dog that was not attacking them or someone else?

Sounds like something naughty little boys would do. Very distressing to this dog-lover.

Larry took me to Walmart the other day. I haven't been since before my surgery (sept 10) so I was in withdrawls! I just had to go.

I had a very nice time.

We know that nobody loves dogs any more than our favorite lion.

Mrs. K and I will be browsing a large book store next week (or I will browse while she sits in a comfy chair and reads magazines). If they have the book, I may get it.

So you may want to stick with the traditional coffee and chocolates for Christmas.

I'm going to be a little late paying my dues because I just found out that Kath needs more prayer than any of us realized......

Anyone who would say something like that definitely needs to check her coffee consumption.

Kath's been taking a lot of meds for her knee surgery. I'm feeling quite concerned for her.

ROFLOL!

Well, being the resident Walmart naysayer, I decided not to comment on her post (because anything I would say would just seem too predictable). But, Roberta and Cranky, I can certainly agree with y'all's posts.

Probably not. I think I actually end up saying "neigh" instead and then sounding like a horse.

Master Kerr, I wanted to tell you that I ate at Ruby Tuesdays tonight and, remembering what you've said, had the salad bar and found it very good.

The 2 cups of coffee I drank (I was frozen after sitting outside in 35º drizzly weather watching a 7th grade football game) were probably a big mistake, though.

If I had known, I would have sent you a "buy one meal, get one free" coupon. I think it expires tomorrow.

Not that I think that you would have eaten two meals. They have "to go" boxes.

Drinking coffee is never a mistake.

Nothing for you to apologize for; I realize you were simply quoting the book.

I'm making espresso fudge brownies this morning. Tomorrow is national boss's day and that will feed two of his addictions---coffee and chocolate.

Okay. You simply cannot come in here and say "espresso fudge brownies" without, at the very least, posting the recipe.

Oh, wait. This isn't one of those no flour/no sugar things is it? If so....nevermind.
