How many people here like Dick Dale?

I know there's at least two people that do (including me).I was going to share another video of him on my dieing instrumental thread, but decided to do it here.

A medley of Amazing Grace and Third Stone From The Sun:

Oh my gosh, I have 2 Dick Dale Cd's! One is just Dick and the other is surf music w/Dick on it. I think I even have Dick on an album of surf music too. I am a big fan. I loved all the beach movies he was in. Wish I could have seen him sometime in concert either now or back then. I think he came somewhere around here but for some reason I couldn't go. I wanted to dance to Dick in my recital 2 years ago but I couldn't find a song that was fast enough for me to dance to (I take Jazz.) Maybe someday I'll get to see him in concert.

I have 2 of his Cd's also, Surfers' Choice (early 60's) and Tribal Thunder (early 90's).I definitely like Tribal Thunder the best so far. It's edgier and is great from start to finish.

I didn't really get into Dick Dale until about two or three years ago, after renting the Pulp Fiction movie (which uses his music for the theme). That's what initially got me looking up his music and discovering his underrated talent. One of the best guitarists I've come across, doing a style of music that's pretty much ignored by the radio.

I've seen him a couple of times live. He's great--an honest guitar virtuoso. His fans are crazy/rabid.

I'd love to see him in concert. It would be really cool if he played in my city, but that is pure fantasy.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of Dick Dale fans around here, but I haven't heard from any haters yet either.

I like to see another left hander like me out there. It would appear that he's left handed. Turning the thing upside down when I was a kid was no fun. Jimi Hendrix might have gotten a charge out of it, I don't. He could trash them and just go get another one. Left handed Stratocasters are relatively easy to get ahold of compared to all other models out there. I didn't say "easy", but rather easier.

There is a version of Third Stone that I do, but what I would like to hear and do as a segue would require a symphony orchestra.
