On FB under religion I typed 'loves Jesus'. I'm not a label person. Labels tend to divide. And the flesh loves to put people in their 'appropriate little boxes'. So I resist the urge.

I don't belong to a religion. I belong to Jesus and live His love back to Him and to the world. It's really quite simple. Just Jesus.

I like your post here!

What we should call ourselves? Christians and disciples - or be honest and call ourselves seekers only and nothing else! Here is why:

To Whom Is The Gospel Of Christ Preached? What Is The Genuine Message Of The Gospel
“First Delivered Unto The Saints”? And What Exactly IS A Disciple Of Our Lord Jesus Christ?
These Are The Essential Questions Of Eternal Importance, The “One Thing Needful”

It has been about 2,000 years since the Master, Our Lord Jesus Christ, walked the Earth. Have these 2,000
years changed the Gospel Message, changed the nature of man, changed the meaning or actuality of what it IS to be a
disciple of His?

I used to call myself a Christian and don't really mind doing so now. But i have personally found more power and freedom in the name of being a child of God.

How do you identify yourself by your faith? For example, on Facebook, there is a blank where you can type in your "religion". What would you/did you type in there?

I am not a fan of identifying oneself by a simple label when such great a price was paid for our right to do so.

On my FB page I used the term "Christ follower."

My friends just call me Ron.

Am I the first one in this thread that isn't on Facebook?

I don't normally fill out profiles; regardless of where the profile is being shown.
Go ahead . . . click on my profile here; you won't find much about me.

When I was on Facebook, my profile over there was pretty much the same, as far as how much information one gleaned about me.

As to how I refer to myself in regards to Jesus, for not-yet-believers, they know me as a Christian . . . although, I don't go around saying, "Hi, I'm Sharon-Marie; I'm a Christian." Two reasons why: (1) it sounds hokey and affected; as if I'm trying to prove something or impress someone. (2) It doesn't line up with one of my philosophical outlooks, "Preach the Gospel at all times; when necessary, use words." I would hope that my life would point to my Christian identification and my love for Jesus more than any words I could say or any thing I could list in an electronic profile.

Here in the threads, when necessary or appropriate, I I will refer to myself as a Daughter of the Most High King.

That is probably my most favorite way of describing who and what I am.

Hmmm... I didn't even know you could change the religion category on FB. Silly me. As of now I have it marked Christian... but underneath my picture I have this...

Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.

I think that is a better description of who I am.

A wretch saved by the grace of God. But that wasn't a choice in this poll.

ref: bolded...

cause calling yourself anything else is not fooling anyone and if we are to reach the world...then let's be honest about who we are...just my opinion.

Uhm, Doink . . . edited to add that my resounding agreement was with your post about being honest about who we are . . . not about your being a doofus.

That particular category is reserved for people far more spiritually mature than us.

I usually call myself something like "jerkface" or "stoopid". My sisters have another nickname for me that would violate TOS.

I guess I'm the second one that doesn't do Facebook. Good, I hate being part of the "in" crowd.

Are you saying that I'm not part of the "in" crowd???

Wow, what a reality splash in the face!

And, Hey! Does this mean that you and I are now in our own kinda crowd?
