Count me in.

I really got alot out of this book. It is pretty eye-opening and convicting at the same time. I think I am fairly labled as a "Lukewarm" Christian and it is something that I am working on changing. I was very convicted by Chan's thoughts scriptual proof. Too often I was giving God my "leftovers"

Hopefully we can get a good discussion going here.

I didn't realize there were any. I assume from crazylove.com?

I have been listening to a lot of Chan's sermons that you can find in iTunes or at his chrurch's website. He definitely has a gift.

I just finished reading Crazy Love by Chan and quite enjoyed it. The Lord has really been challenging me lately about our church being more missional - focused on missions, outreach, evangelism, care for the poor, etc. so this was a timely one for me. Now that I have finished this book, I am reading his new one, The Forgotten God, about the Holy Spirit. Good stuff!

Finally, I would like to pray with all of you for this time and for God's blessing on our study.

Heavenly Father, King of the Universe,

Words cannot express how grateful we are that You will allow us to come into Your throne room. We thank you for Your Word that feeds our souls and guides our hearts and minds into a right relationship with You. We ask for your blessing on this group and pray that, in our studies of Your Word, You will be glorified. Help us to continue to transform into people that will move us closer to Your side.

In Your Holy Name,
Amen

Lets start: :)
When Francis Chan said to stop praying, he didn't mean to stop completely. He meant that before we randomly go to Him in prayer, we should take time to think about who we are in relation to Him, realize that al we have is from Him. Rejoice in the world He has given us and see how He has revealed Himself through His creation. Have we done that lately? I try to give thanks everyday to Him about a creation. If it's the beautiful weather we are recieving to the wonderful sunrise. I try to focus, because of Him. This suggestion that we do not just jump in to begin a prayer. Taking a moment, to realizing to whom we are going to be addressing my prayer, to worship His gandeur and yet His all encompassing love, places me on my knees at His feet. How can we not worship about the life that is yet to come?

Here's a question from the study on the internet.
1) "light" is a broad term that encompasses so much more. List below what qualifies as "light" (other helpful passages: Psalm 119-105; Ephesians 5:8-14; Galations 5:22-23.
Living a jus life. A life w/God one that is hones. We live by the laws.

2) "Darkness" is also a broad term that encompasses so much more. List below what qualifies as "darkness" (other helpful passages: Ephesians 5:8-14/ Romans 13:12-14/ Mark 7:20-23/ 1Corinthians 6:9-11,18-20)
Acting as though you know God but not living w/God. Not showing others you live by the law.
"Walk-in"=general characteristic of you lifestyle. With this in mind, what does it meant to "walk-in darkness or light?
