because I always have been. Grew up learning to be that way. income necessitates that I be. AND most importantly in order for me to continue to be a SAHM I HAVE to be frugal. The budget would not work otherwise. Blessings, Garsy

All of the above, except it was my grandparents who grew up in the depression. I spent a lot of time with them though and my grandmother was extremely frugal. I also grew up in a single parent household where frugality was a necessity. I really just hate paying full price for anything. I get a thrill when I find a really good deal. I also find that frugality encourages creativity. It also encourages contentment with what you already have.

Because I want to be a good stuart of the Lord's money. (Lord help me be more frugal, and help me to get a thrill out of frugalilty too. Thankyou. )

If one defines frugality as 'reflecting economy in the use of resources'(living within my means)I'm frugal. If one defines frugality as 'maintaining excess reserve for impending doom or inheritance', I plan on going out of this life with my books balanced little or none to spare.

Because I'm so used to being broke that although our income has gone up considerably in the last 10 years, I'm still a bargain hunter (that and I detest debt)

I think it's good biblical stewardship of God's money to be careful with it. Those. Although I like to shop and I adore fabric We don't do much traveling other then weekend trips. Also, it's become a game to me to see how much I can save by using coupons without compromising on things that we consider to be the most important, like healthy food. Coupons are a hobby for me.

I am frugal now because ....... I used to make tons of money and bought bought bought and charged charged charged, and I can honestly tell you that having a lot of *stuff* does not make one happy and having all that stress knowing we were so in debt was not worth it. A few years ago I paid off 100% of my bills and have lived on what I make now and am much happier with the little I have. Little is much when God is in it ... it's not just a song, it's true!!

I was raised to be frugal. Even when I made a lot of money, I never was a spendthrift or disregarded getting good value for my money. I will always try to shop for a bargain or try to find the most frugal way of doing something. There are exceptions to this, but that's my general rule and always has been.

I am frugal because I have gone without electricity as a child growing up. I am frugal because I have gone without running water as a child growing up. I never was hungry....but we had things we did without sometimes. I am frugal because it allows me to do fun things with my children on occasion that I could not do if I did not cut expenses somewhere else. I am frugal so that I can give to those who are truly in need. I am frugal because I do not want my children to HAVE to take care of me in my old age.

I am frugal because I love knowing that I will have my home paid off before my first child enters college due to my lifestyle. I am frugal because I love knowing that I got something at a bargain and it is just as good (or better than) as the one someone else paid full price for. I am frugal because I feel it is being a good steward of the resources God gave me. (Should that be first?) I am frugal because it gives me a natural high to find a bargain knowing that I saved a lot of money on a good find. ie We went on the World's longest yard sale for vacation and I wanted soup crocks. I found some for $10 I talked them down to $8. Down the road a dealer had them for $65 (I think he was crazy BTW); it turns out they are collectable. I just want them for french onion soup.

I am frugal because my parents were, because I don't have much money, because it is fun and challenging to find good deals, because I hate to pay full price, and because I think God wants us to be thoughtful about how we spend our money.

Used to not be. I would get paid every other week and by week two I'd be broke. No checking account either because you have to deposit it, then spend it. But I did have the best CB radio money could buy with the ability to talk all over the world. Then I got married. You know, what's mine is hers and what's hers is hers. Now I have a real hard time spending money. Maybe at my age I understand just how much it takes to make it.
