I'm sorry, but I do not wish to get into a long drawn out discussion where I (or someone else) provides said proof and it's "refuted" because it's "inconclusive" or something similar.

If what you show me actually proves something, you won't have to worry about me saying that it's inconclusive.

If you are honestly seeking proof that God is real, you will find it.

You're referring to the idea that if I seek out god, he'll 'speak' to me somehow, or show himself to me. And that's not proof at all. Because people across the board from different religions such as hinduism or islam etc. have claimed to have experienced contact with other gods who have nothing to do with christianity at all. So why should I believe your experience with (what you believe to be) your god is any more real than the experiences other religions have had with (what they think to be) their gods?

Good point. I would like to bring up one idea for your consideration. Think about the apostles. They were persecuted actively, and most of them died for their faith. What made them bold? It could very well be said that they were misled, but the apostles claimed to have seen the risen Jesus. If Jesus had risen from the dead (after being in the tomb as long as He was), that proved to them that He was exactly who He said He was, and that was God in the flesh. If they were faking, would they have had the boldness to die for it? Can you point out anyone in history that has willingly died for something he knew to be false?

And I'm not referring to the idea that if you seek out God that He'll speak to you. I'm saying that if you honestly look, you'll see the evidence that's already there.

That's strange - because I have never met a single Hindu, Muslim or an adherent of any other faith who believes they have a personal relationship with the deity they follow. And, living in the UK, I've met a fair few.

By the way, I would like to interrupt this interesting convo to say thank you. You have made it clear that you do not believe as we do, but you have not insulted (IMO) our beliefs. That is a refreshing change.

Archeologists, many of whom always try to disprove the Bible, its history, and of course 'God,' are always digging up more and more sites that are told about in the Bible. There is proof out there that God is real, it's not going to be some miraculous divine intervention all the time; He uses the simple things of life most of the time to get our attention ~ to 'woo' us to Him, so to speak.
A person who seeks proof may not even see it if it hit them on the head. Why? Because they are looking for the clouds to part, and a miracle to happen. God is there, He wants to be a part of your life; only if you seek Him, not proof that He exists.
The human body...isn't that proof enough? If you are only seeking proof, how can the human body just 'come together?' It is a complicated 'machine' that could never have evolved or come together on its own. Just something to consider.

I do pray you find Him; remember, it may not be in the miraculous, but in the simple things of life.

Matthew
