Totally sounded third person-ish to me.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the guy kinda shot himself in the foot. She could've come home with some "gifts" for him.....

I would submit, as the pastor, he didn't want anyone to be privy to his sex life. I generally agree with bolt.'s post.

I think it could depend on several factors which we haven't been told. Just what is the definition of "naughty gifts" in this case? Sexy black lace lingerie isn't the same thing as instructional porn tapes and hand cuffs.

Who is invited? Is it all married women? Women who respect their marriages and are just looking to add a little fun into their relationship with their hubby?

How would the average member of THIS PARTICULAR CHURCH view these things? For example, I work in kids ministry and I wouldn't think twice about being seen having a glass of wine with dinner or going into a PG-13 movie. This just isn't a big deal in the culture of my church. Some of my in-laws attend churches where this would get me fired on the spot and brought up for church discipline just as a member.

I agree with those who say that there is nothing in the OP which says that this poor lady was made a sermon illustration or that her husband told the Men's Fellowship.
