Green tea is one of the most powerful sources of antioxidants around. The reason is because green tea contains catechins, some very powerful antioxidants. One of the catechins, EGCG, is one of the most poweful antioxidants discovered and EGCG is the main reason why green tea has such wide-ranging health benefits. But it is best to drink it in a cup. They say 4-6 cups a day is best for health benefits. But some people, understandably, don't like the astringent taste, so adding honey and lemon to the tea is probably the way to go. I say add lemon because the vitamin C allows more than 80% of the catechins to remain in the body after digestion. If not, only about 20% remain. Because the catechins are so sensitive, the need the extra acid. But add honey as well, if you are not up for astringency. The honey will block out the lemon taste because it is so much sweeter than sugar, as we all know. Hope this helps. I am a big green tea drinker, and that's why I know a little bit about it. Jessica
